This is interesting. Because I not only have my dad's badge but my grandfather, John Calvin Strain, was the one who started Essington Troop #1 of the Boy Scouts of America. I don't know the year except that he came from W. PA to Delaware County in the year of Nov. 1917, as a Westinghouse employee. These facts were from family history passed down as well as his obituary. Where would the Treasure Island Camp have been located? Does Camp Delmont sound familiar? Jean, Camp Delmont is or was in the Poconos (don't know if it's still around). My brother went there in the late 50s/early 60s. Karen Jean Arnold wrote: > This is interesting. Well hi, Chris. Yes, I just decided to join the list yesterday to ask about the boy scout badge of my dad's as well as the photo in the Chester Times, that I want to try and get. I guess I will have to hoof it to Harrisburg on a Saturday and look for that edition of the paper and try another copy. My copy from 1957 is brown and withered with age! Are you still at the Historical Society? I think that is where I went many years ago when I was looking for Westinghouse information etc. I still haven't found what I wanted on that subject. But I still keep digging for more and more family history. We don't get down there very often..........about twice a year. We are down to Joyce as our only living sibling ( besides Joanne ) and the rest are gone. Jacky died in 1993 and June died a year ago. Joanne and husband are living in Lynchburg, VA where he teaches at Liberty University. We are still comfortable here in Lancaster County. Chuck retired from the church but is working another job. I just gave up nursing at the end of Dec. Too many politics and I was tired of staying up at nights to work...........27 years of it.
