    3. Thanks to all who replied about the death certificates! I realized as soon as I sent that email that death certs. are at New Castle and I guess because I am trying to find info on the early timeframe of 1864 and 1870, that info would be at the local courthouse. Thanks again for all the great suggestions!! Good Day to all My Grandmothers sister died in Delaware County. I sent through the Pennsylvania Vital 's to get a copy. They are only three dollars and give you so much information ....including the maiden name of the mother. Where they lived at the time of death. The reason for death. Where born. Well WORTH your three dollars and you also have verification on your family member. Our County......Mifflin County has death's recorded at the courthouse at the Registar and Recorders office. I am there all the time. The ladies are great ! You can go to any of your local Courthouses and get any record you want. They are ALL public and yours for the copying. In your courthouse you will not only find the death registar for deaths......but, marriages recorded.............land deeds........wills..........divorces and so on! I have copied deeds.....marriage applications ...divorces and again so on !!!!! Here is a site for Pennsylvania Vitals you can go into to copy an application (print out an application) for Births as well as Deaths. www.health.state.pa.us/vitalrecords Good luck in your search.
