(I worked in banking back then.) I have had my checking account for close to 25 years so the info is still on file at the bank and I would have to close my account it to remove it. Also, if you go looking for a mortgage, at least here in NY, they want your mother's maiden name for the credit reporting agencies. It is better to be safe than sorry.
