    1. Re: [PADELAWA] Willliam Friel of Leiperville / Chester Research Help
    2. Good morning Karen, The following suggestions may help you. :) To find an obit & more newspaper articles on this event you would go to the Delaware County Historical Society, in Chester, PA. Search "The Chester Times" newspaper, around the date of the murder, the newspaper is on micro film. :) To find the court records regarding Wm FRIEL's murder you would go to the Delaware County Archives, in Lima. I do not think you will find any police records. Have you looked for Wm's first wife's name in the 1900 census? If she didn't d. before then. It may also be mentioned in his obit. Have you found the cemetery where Wm is buried? On the gravestone(s) you might be able to find the date of deaths of both wives. I will send you an outline on doing genealogy research in Delaware Co., PA. Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) P.S. If anyone else wants a copy of this research outline for Delaware Co., PA -- please e-mail me off list. :) In a message dated 8/13/07 1:35:45 AM, Kskm212 writes: > > Hi.  I am looking for some help locating additional records related to the > following: > > William Friel was murdered in Leiperville / Chester, PA, Saturday November > 16, 1921.  He was about 47 yrs old at the time.  I have a Genealogy Bank > article from the Philadelphia Inquirer about this event.  > >   > > Any idea where would I find additional news articles about his murder > (maybe from a Chester, PA newspaper) or police / court records?  I would also like > to get a copy of his obituary. > >   > > I am also looking for obituaries for his 1st and 2nd wives - both died in > Eddystone/Chester, PA area. > > 1st wife - name not known, but she died after 12/23/1896 and before 1905. > > 2nd wife - Rose died between 1920 and 1930 census. > >   > > These are my husbands great grandparents who I am researching as part of > his family tree.  This is my first steps into Delaware County research.  All my > prior research has been in Chester, Montgomery, and Luzerne counties. > >   > > I live in North Delaware, so can do local research if I know where to go or > look. > >   > > Any help would be greatly appreciated. > >   > > Thanks, > > Karen > > ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
