I live in Delaware County in Pennsylvania. Hope this helps Regards, Donna
Donna, could I pay you to check out a land record at the courthouse in Media? I have written to the registrar of Deeds and have phoned and I always get the answer that they don't have time to check the index to see if the name is there. That I have to have the # etc. Captain George W Moore of Chester advertised the sale of a piece of property, sounds like a farm, in 1853. He died in 1857. I thought that it might be a family farm and might tell me where he had lived before Chester, and might even give me a clue of his parents. I don't know the number of the deed or even if he succeeded in selling it. He evidently did not leave a will and the Orphans Court office sent me only a renunciation by his wife of admistration and a list of one page inventory. All that for $12. George has been my brick wall for a long time. Too many Moores!
