Mary, I can't resist when I see your name. I am working hard on the Joseph Findlay family of New Castle Co. His wedding 1820 to Adelia Reece states that they were both of Christiana Hundred. I have searched census records so sure I would immediately spot their parents - but no luck. Their son David C m Rebecca Moore of Chester, and they are in the 1850 census in Wilmington. Lewis Findlay, a blacksmith, a brother, is also there. Does your Finley have anything to do with Findlay? I know there were Finleys in Cecil Co. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
