    1. Naturalization papers
    2. The Court House at Media have copies of the naturalization papers and they also can get for you a Petition document which just shows the same information s the Naturalization paper. The do not have a form that the personwould have filled out with information before the petition was granted. At least they are not aware of such a paper if indeed there was one. I would think that you would have had to fill out some form before they would even start the process. 3. Did the courthouse have those naturalizations done in Federal court or only in local courts? You might not find it in the county courthouse. Check with the book on naturalizations. I can't think of the author. And PA Hist Soc in Philly has all those naturalization books to check out. 1. Orphans' Court, Delaware, which State?
    2. Tom Woolman
    3. Hi Listers, I would be grateful for information regarding a family document recently found in Australia, where I live. It is headed “in the Orphans’ Court for Delaware County, Estate of Thomas H. Hoy, deceased”, and is dated “filed with the Register of Wills on October 25, 1911, and confirmed absolutely by the Orphans’ Court of Delaware County, November 25, 1911”. However, no State of America is listed, and I am aware that several American States have a Delaware County. Any information on how to ascertain which State it was issued in would be very welcome. The executors of the estate are John Baker, George Curran and Jonathan Prichard. Tom Woolman _________________________________________________________________ Broadband? Dial-up? 3. Good morning List. I have an old 1946 Chester Times Yearbook and it has a section entitled Delaware County in Review - 1945. Thought you'd like to read some excerpts: January 15, 1945 - Volunteers raised $24,000 in a drive to place the Chester Police Pension Fund on a sounder financial basis. March 1, 1945 - Tommy WRIGHT, Lennox Park Marine hero who lost his sight at Guadalcanal, was married to Wave Louise MCCARTHY of Dover, N.H., who helped care for him at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital. March 30, 1945 - Fire broke out in the 3-story home of the Order of the Owls, Ninth and Sproul streets, causing an estimated $40,000 damage. March 31, 1945 - Sgt. Edward F. 3. Hello Helen. Most, if not all Native American tribes considered witches and black arts bad medicine and if the village found out that a witch conjured on a fellow villager, they sought out that witch and killed them. Witches were not welcome in a village and usually lived outside the village where they would be safe. Shaman or Medicine Man/Woman or Healer were considered good medicine and a healthy function of the village. Most villages had their own, but if a village did not have their own Shaman or Medicine Man/Woman or Healer, they knew where they lived or knew how to contact one when needed. Hope this helps. Peace and blessings. 3. Hi Helen. I use GOOGLE a lot... check out some of these that came up in the search. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=lenape%2C+dictionary http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=lenape Considering that we came from the Philadelphia and surrounding counties, we walked on the lands that were once inhabited by the Leni Lenapes. I lived in Mt Airy and one of the old residents told us that we were living on stolen Lenape land. Many of my friends who live in Warrington and surrounding towns live on lands that were stolen from the Leni Lenapes through that "Pennsylvania Walking Purchase". The land land to be sold was that which covered by one walking an 18 hour time period... Penn hired experienced and very fast runners and they ran, not walked. http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Pennsylvania+Walking+Purchase%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&filter=0 Hope that it helps. 2. Found this on the web. Don't know if the email address is still correct... Deb Stevens ([email protected]) I have a very lovely scrapbook inscribed Chester, PA--Present December 25, 1915 by Aunt Carrie to Elenora Arnsparger. I'd like to see it returned to family. It's green canvas bound with heavy paper pages with paper doll cutouts and magazine pictures cutouts glued in as well as Christmas stamps. Some pages have come loose, but the overall condition is good.

    3. Good morning list! Is anyone, or has anyone, compiled a list of men who were members of the Wilde Post, NO 25 GAR? I have looked at John Bullock's website, Old Chester, PA, and have seen a link listing men from this post, however, two of my great grandfathers served in the Civil War and were members of Wilde Post and are not included in the list. Also, does anyone know where I would query for records of the Wilde Post? I would be happy to share any info I receive in my searches. If anyone out there has information on these two men (below) - PLEASE contact me! Thanks. Joseph DALTON and James F. PIERCE (please see their obits below which mention the Wilde Post) DEATH OF CAPTAIN PIERCE Old Fisherman and Veteran of the Civil War Succumbs to an Operation. The death of Captain James F. Pierce late Saturday night following an operation in the Chester hospital, came as a surprise and shock for the many friends and aquaintainces of the veteran fisherman and soldier. Captain Pierce located in this city when a mere boy, he having been born in Marcus Hook. Most of his life was spent gunning and fishing along the waters of the Delaware river and bay and he ranked among the oldest fishermen of this section. Deceased served his country in the great struggle of the Civil War and was a member of Wilde Post, No. 25, G.A.R. which organization will attend his funeral. His illness was somewhat protracted, but it was only a few days ago that he was taken to the hospital in the hope that an operation would benefit him, but it proved too late. ------------------------------------------- DALTON--At Philadelphia, on the 29th inst., Joseph Dalton, formerly of Upland, in his 64th year. The relatives and friends of the family also Upland Lodge, No. 428, Knights of Pythias and Post Wilde, No. 25, G. A. Friday, May 1, 1903 (page 5) **************** JOSEPH DALTON Joseph Dalton, of Upland, whose death was reported in the Times yesterday is another of the citizens to whom this country owes Lasting gratitude. He was one of the boys who responded to the call of President Lincoln in the dark days of the Rebellion, when defenders were sorely needed that the Union might be preserved, and the country cannot honor these brave men too highly. To his record for bravery in time of danger, Mr. Dalton added that of probity and honesty of life. His word was never questioned and the people of his hometown, who best know his worth, will honor his memory as one of the citizens who made the world better by living in it. Late in life he received recognition of his services and his worth by appointment to the position of postmaster of Upland, a post he filled with fidelity. (Chester Times--Chester, Pa.
