    1. Pearson, Brannon, Ash, Pierson families
    2. Merry Anne Pierson
    3. Seeking information on the above surnames. I'm almost finished with a book regarding the Pearson line who originated in Delaware county with Benjamin and Susannah Burbeck Pearson. This family has a connection to the Brannon family by a marriage between a male Pearson and a female Brannon (Brannan, Brannin, Brannen) and also severl connections to the Ash line by marriages. I'm seeking the children of Samuel Evans Ash and their spouses. Particulary interested in Samuel Ash Evan's da (name unknown) who married a Pierson/Pearson and produced two children, Eunice and Mariah who are named in Anna Bevan Pearson's will. Anna's mother was Samuel Evans Ash's sister, Alice Ash. She married Benjamin F. Pearson. The time period I'm looking for the individuals in is 1780-1850. Thanks for any assistance Merry Anne Pierson

    3. Kathy, Go to http://www.delcohistory.org/ for all could ever want to know about Hinksons's Corner and Moore's Station. There was no hit for Thortonville, but Thornton, PA is right at the Chester/Delaware Counties border, next to Cheyney. The Swedenborgian Cemetery was part of the First New Jerusalem Church. It was near Marshall and Springton Road. The church was demolished in 1912. The cemetery was dug up about 1965. The remains were transferred to a mass grave in Mt. Zion Cemetery. I can tell you that the mass grave is unmarked and the only records I have been able to discover are WPA records, available at Delaware County Historical Society...several of my PILLING ancestors were buried there. My guess is that the old section of Mt. Zion and Mt. Hope are one and the same, but I may very well be wrong on this one. 1. Chester Times-March 30, 1882-Names,Burial Places of Civil War Deaths
    2. I found an article in the Chester Times, dated March 30, 1882, about the Government buying and placing headstones on Soldiers who were killed during the Civil War in Delaware County. There are 32 Cemeteries. I will be posting them over the next few days of the Names, Regiments and the Cemeteries were they were buried in Delaware County, Pa. Hopefully, someone will find an ancestor listed. Here is the start of the Newspaper Article. SOLDIER'S HEADSTONES Chester Times March 30, 1882 A COMPLETE LIST OF DECEASED SOLDIERS WHOSE GRAVES WILL BE MARKED WITH MARBLE STONES BY THE GOVERNMENT The headstones ordered by the Government for the graves of dead soldiers in this county have been completed by the contractor, Mr. Prince, of Philadelphia and will be placed in the different cemeteries and graveyards by him as soon as the weather and ground permit. The stones are good-sized marble ones, nicely dressed and contain the name, the company and regiment of the deceased soldier. Wilde Post, of this city (Chester) has taken a very active interest in procuring the name and location of the dead soldiers in the county and having the proper inscription placed on each stone. William H. Martin, one of the active members of that organization has given the matter much attention. The stones are ready for delivery, and will be sent to Chester in a short time. The following lists will show the reader which graves will be marked, the stars being used to designate those that have arrived: NOTE: #1 Cemetery is a very large list. I will post that one last. It lists not only soldiers from Pa. but from other Northern states who were killed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ #2 Private Lots and Single Graves in Chester Rural Cemetery Edward Blakeley Company B, 124th Pa.
