My great-great-great-grandparents were Jacob BROWER and Anna (RUDY) BROWER, both were born in Franklin County, VA, where they were married in the very late 1700s; early in the 1800s, they moved to Preble County, OH, where they lived and died. It has been intimated that the father of Anna RUDY was Daniel RUDY whose father, in turn, was Dietrick or Peter RUDY. It is further intimated that Daniel RUDY may have had some relationship to Dauphin County, PA. Does anyone have RUDY data that would assist, clarify, corroborate and/or expand all of this information? Hi David. I am at work at the moment and do not have the information at hand so can not give dates or church but in researching my McKee line I found a Heinrich McKee who married Eva Rudy in Dauphin Co. in early 1800s. This Heinrich, or someone with the same name, was a witness to the marriage of my 2 gr grandparents, Thomas Grundon and Maria McKee. This marriage was on 27 Mar 1807 in the Tabor Reformed Church of Lebanon. I have not been able to determine how, or if, Heinrich was related to Maria. Can anyone explain the apparent German and Scots Irish name of Heinrich McKee? Is it possible that these people were of German extraction and the name was changed to McKee? I have been unable to determine a German name that might have sounded like McKee. Would appreciate any input on this.
