John C. KINDLER worked as a baker for Fredrick WAGONER in Wagoner's home at 511 E. State St. in Harrisburg from 1877 to 1881. My grandfather, Charles A. KINDLER, joined John as a baker in 1882 and they lived at 322 Boas St.until 1887. Charles then married Joanna KISSINGER and lived at 1117 James Ave., still baking with John (and Fred?) >From 1897 through 1910, John at 618 N. 2d St. and Charles at 317 Herr were still listed as bakers. Later, Charles ran his own bakery at his residence at 415 Herr St. to at least 1911. The building is still there. The above from HSG telephone and city directories.
