I have been searching for information on my gggrandmother for some time now and not too successfully. My original information gave her name as Jane SHARPE SCHNELL born in Dauphin County, PA on August 20, 1816. I have been unable to verify this information. She moved to Illinois, exact time period is not known to me. She married my gggrandfather in 1853 at Winchester, Scott, Illinois. She died March 23, 1893 in Winchester, IL, but again I have not been able to verify this. I recently checked the 1850 census records for Scott County, IL and find a Jane SHNELL listed as 30 years of age and who was born in Pennsylvania. I have a hunch that this might be the woman I have been searching for, and was wondering if any one on the list might have some information on a Jane SHNELL evidently born in 1820 and not 1816. Appreciate any assistance anyone may be able to provide.
