I was hesitant about posting to the list because I am so new to searching for ancestors; I'm a little insecure about what is an appropriate response . Last month I was in Lockport NY (Niagara County) looking for my grandparents' relations when --by lucky chance-- I located a Shaeffer family cemetery at the edge of town on Robinson Road. It is a tiny cemetery, only a handful of families. My g. grandmother's brother is buried there with his wife, Sarah M. Shaeffer, 1828-1891. Next to Sarah's stone is a restored stone for a Samuel Shaeffer, born in Berks Co PA, d. April 14 1857 and Sarah wife of Samuel, born in Dauphin Co PA, d. Mar. 12, 1848, age 59 years. There were other Shaeffers buried there, of course, but I'm afraid I did not take complete notes on them because, in the excitement of finding him, I was most interested in my g.g. grand-uncle, William S. Eshbaugh. There are complete records on this cemetery in the Niagara County Historian's office in Lockport. Other families buried there include Schreiber, Stumpf, Beihl, Ashbough, Leinbach and a few others. If you would like any more details on this, please post me back.
