Hi All, Both the books & the CD of Egle's Notes & Queries are on eBay right now--they are frequently available there. The CD is considerably cheaper at about $8 right now, but the description for the set of books ($300 right now) gives this information: Egle's NOTES & QUERIES Set of 13 Pennsylvania Genealogy "Notes and Queries: Historical, Biographical and Genealogical Relating Chiefly to Interior Pennsylvania," edited by William Henry Egle, M.D., M.A., copyright 1970 (from the original published 1894-1900), thirteen volumes. This is an impressive, complete set, in pristine condition. According to the Publisher: "Egle s celebrated Notes and Queries is the most important multi-volume work on the genealogy, biography, and history of central Pennsylvania ever published. Included in its nearly 5,000 pages are a vast number of genealogies, family sketches, and biographies, as well as extensive lists of early settlers and soldiers of the various wars, including the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. In addition, the work encompasses an impressive array of genealogical source records--early wills, church records, marriage and death records, tax lists, and lists of early immigrants and frontiersmen." "Notes and Queries was originally published between 1879 and 1895 as a series of newspaper columns in the Harrisburg Daily Telegraph, then carried forward and published in five annual volumes between 1896 and 1900. The columns (and offprints of the columns which appeared in pamphlet form) were reprinted in seven volumes between the years 1894 and 1896; thus, with the five annual volumes for 1896-1900, the complete set of Notes and Queries totals twelve volumes." The thirteenth volume is an index to the Main Families, Persons, Places and Subjects. Published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., LoC# 70-114834, hard cover, 5.75" by 8.75" by about 0.5" to 1.5" thick, before packing weight 17 lbs. I am just now trying to clean out my in and out email boxes and found your message from February. Did you ever get a response as to what the Egle volumes contain. I don't want to be too redundant if you have already had a response. Let me know if you are still interested. By the way, you can get a CD of Egle for about $30. I happen to think that it is an essential resource for folks with central PA connections - this is the place that gave me the name of my 4th great grandmother. Regards, Joan Bretz
