My mother purchased an old ledger at an auction years ago. It belonged to John Weaver, and the entries begin Nov. 14, 1833. Many upper Dauphin County families' accounts are included. John was apparently a shoemaker early in life, and ran some sort of store later on. I will post the names of the account holders and the names of others mentioned in the accounts...most of those mentioned are children, but some are other adults that may have been hired help, or relatives, etc. They are usually noted with a first and last name whereas the children are noted only by first name. Persons are in the order seen in the ledger, and I use the spelling of the ledger as well.
