As you probably know, William Bitterman and wife Blanche (always called Blanche in the censuses, never Amanda) are in the 1910 - 1930 Berks county censuses: their 4 children in these censuses from eldest to youngest are: Anna M.(1906); Carrie M.(1909); Viola C.(1911); and John W.(1915). According to the 1910 census, it appears that they were married abt 1905. In the 1930 census, enumerated with them, is William Bitterman's SINGLE brother-in-law, Dewey Lee Neiswender (born 1899 and died 1984 in Berks county). Why I stress 'single' is because that would indicate that the only relationship would be through his wife, therefore Blanche's brother. Dewey Lee Neiswender (Neuschwander was the original spelling I believe) is with his father Ephraim (born abt 1838 in Pa) in the Upper Mahoney, Northumberland censuses. In the 1900 census, Ephraim is with his (at least) 2nd wife, married abt 1899. Her name is Carry/Carrie (born abt 1878). His first wife was named Abbey(born abt 1844). He had a large number of children by Abbey, but there are no census records between 1880 and 1900, so do not know which children she had after 1880, or if there was another wife between Abbey and Carry. I would suspect that he married within a couple of years after his (first?) wife's death, so if this is Abbey, she is probably Blanche's mother. I should think there would be some records of this family in the Upper Mahoney, Northumberland area.
