    3. Sue, Michael Rose, et al::}~ The STONER ancestors are very elusive, perhaps for reasons elaborated on by SAMUEL S. WENGER, as published in the January 1988 issue of the Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage. His article, entitled "An Essay on the STONER / STEINER Families of Pennsylvania", contains numerous references to source data and reflects 50 years of searching. He goes on to point out another reason making tracing individuals difficult is the repetitious naming conventions such as Abraham, Jacob, Henry, Christian and John, most of which are found on EVERY branch of STONERs / STEINERs. There are dozens of them referenced throughout his STONER essay. Subsequently, the more I traced the lines the more confused I became, sure of only one thing: I don't know who my wife's ancestors were! If you haven't seen this essay, perhaps you could still get a copy of it from the Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage. Regards, with regrets to Netscape6 users (what a mess!) Stoner and Dawson Hi, I was wondering where the info below in red come from. Ours seem to be a lost limb of the Stoner family and we can't find any connection past 1805 ish. Maybe if I worked from another direction, it might help. William Stoner was b in 1833 in Lancster PA and we have yet to find any kind of info about him prior to 1860. His father was Joseph. All I have. Thanks for any help you have. Sue Looking for Stoner's all I have is this: 5 Brothers came to PA about 1776 and may have foughts in Rev War. Names I have were: Michael, John Christon, Peter and an unknown. One of them gave birth to Absalom Boyles Stoner b. 10/12/1840 Blair County sone of George Stoner and mother was Rachel Noble. Any info on any of them? ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles Fies Retired <chasfies@worldnet.att.net> To: <STONER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2001 4:38 AM Subject: Penna.
