I've "rescued" an old photograph of George CROUSE which was taken at the LeRue Lemer Studio in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1860's or 1870's with George likely in his 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to find census information which appears to be a match for this family: 1870 census of Harrisburg, PA: George CROUSE, age 28, a Railroad Conductor, born PA Elizabeth CROUSE, age 26, Keeping House, born PA Mary CROUSE, age 4, born PA 1880 census of Harrisburg, PA: George CROUSE, a widower, age 37, born VA, a Railroad Employee, parents born VA Dollie CROUSE, dau, age 14, born PA, at Home, parents born VA/PA George CROUSE, son, age 8, born PA, at School, parents born VA/PA I'm hoping to locate someone from this CROUSE Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of his family. My step sister was married to a Crouse. We called him 'Whitey' and he died about 10 years ago. I don't know any history further back than that. Maybe you would know?
