    3. I'm not convinced yet about that B. I suggested Battalion but company B makes more sense if there is a 2nd Regiment. Only problem is I think in todays structure a Regiment is made of Battalions and Battalions are made of Companies which means something is missing. Perhaps the B is a Battery as Artilery has such a group. In any case I hope we get an expert to pipe in on the subject.     3. Ray - that was my error. It turns out it is Battery B. I'm not that familiar with terminology, and all the Civil War records I've used are Companies *L* Sorry about that.
