Hi, Dauphin County searchers I’m brand new to the list. My surname interests are METZGER/LARUE. I’m pretty sure I’m a descendent of John Metzger(b. 24 Jun 1740-24 d.Apr 1826, buried St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middletown) Anna Maria Larue (10 Jan 1747 d. 20 Nov 1826 buried St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middletown) through one of their sons. Children of John Metzger and Anna Maria Larue John (1766-1826) Elizabeth (1767-1832) Anna Maria (1768-1769) Johan George (1769-) Daniel (1770-1807) Ludwig (1772-1773) Anna Maria "Mary" (1773-1850) Jonas (1775-) Catharine (1777-1849) Jacob (1779-1817) Rebecca (1781-) Charlotte (1784-) Lydia (1786-) Joseph (1789-1854) The farthest back I can verify is my ggg grandfather Francis LaRue Metzger (b.9 Apr 1795 d. 25 Apr 1853 Couderport, Potter, PA) who moved to Potter County from Lewisburg,Union County around 1825. His wife was Margaret Cook (b. Berks County) The Potter County Historical Society has their family Bible. I feel Francis is a son of one of the sons of John and Anna Maria Larue Metzger. Anna Maria had a brother Francis LaRue (2 Mar 1744 Hamilton Township, Franklin, PA d. 18 Feb 1795) who died three months before Francis LaRue Metzger was born. Francis Larue was in the 1790 Dauphin County census. Any help would be appreciated. I’d also like to know who John Metzger’s (1740-1826) father was. I’m trying to find the Germany connection. Thank you so much. ~carol Carol Metzger Wilkerson Portland, Oregon
