This is the source of never-ending confusion. > I have a reference from Engle's Notes and Queries which refers to Hill > Lutheran Church in Derry Township, Dauphin County. Jacob Mater is > Baptizing his son, John, on July 4, 1762. John was born July 1, 1762. > John Mater and wife were witnesses. > > Was there a Hill Lutheran Church in Derry Township at this time? If > so where was it located? If it is not still there is the cemetery still > there? And if so please give me an existing landmark so I can locate it > on a map. On a present day map I did find a Derry Church? The church remains as St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hill Church Road, HUMMELSTOWN PA 17336 (717) 533-3218 ( which is a Hershey number, not a Hummelstown number - the place is really closer to Hershey.) It's VERY old place, cemetery included. It is not to be confused with Hill Lutheran Church, one mile north of Cleona and NW of Lebanon in Lebanon Co Pa. Dr. Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA
