Recently I was viewing old church records on microfilm at the local LDS library of Neidig United Methodist Church(1888-1899) and came across the names of some of my husband's Eshenauer ancestors. Beside of the church record, it stated that these ancestors had transferred to Brookwood. Is Brookwood a community near Oberlin or another nearby church? If anybody is working on any of the Eshenauer lines, please contact me. I am running into many different spellings of this surname: Eshenower, Eshenaur, Eschenauer, and of course the way we spell ours Eshenour. If you know of anybody with these spellings living in the Middletown or Oberlin area or know of anybody that was related to them, please have them contact me.

Betty, Do you have an Osman connected to your Eshenowers? Should be either Fredrick or George Eshenower if you do. Brookwood was a section of Harrisburg.
