LEBO: There is a bio on James M. Lebo on pages 724 - 725. He was born 26 Oct 1844 and was a son of James (born 1816 in Upper Paxton and died 11 Dec 1886 on the farm on which he was born) and Annie Jane (Novinger) Lebo. This latter James and wife had 11 children: 1) Sarah,(Mrs. Nathaniel Martz of Northumberland county); 2) Samuel, merchant at Uniontown, Pa. 3) Jonathan, died in Upper Paxton in 1896; 4) James M., (bio), married in Matamoras, Pa 30 Sep 1869 to Mary, daughter of William and Eliza (Brought) Taylor; 5) Christy Ann, deceased, wife of David Kehler; 6) George W., farmer in Upper Paxton; 7) Mary Jane, wife of Edward Schreffler of Upper Paxton; 8) Catherine, wife of John A. Shott of Millersburg, Pa; 9) Jacob H., farming the old homestead in Upper Paxton; 10) Emma S., died young; 11) Alice, wife of Henry J. Zearing of Harrisburg. The children of James M. Lebo and Mary Taylor were: 1) Laura Irene, died when two days old; 2) Lawrence T., living at home; 3) Elmer Irving, died at seven years of age; 4) William J., died aged three; 5) Zora R., died aged three months; The following three, who were also the last 3 children born, all died within 5 weeks (Nora Edna, Calvin E., and Curtis Chester) James M. Lebo and Mary Taylor married between 3 and 4 in the morning to enable them to take an early train for Harrisburg, where they enjoyed the State Fair then in progress. They then visited the bride's relatives in Warren county, Iowa before setting up housekeeping in Dauphin county. James M. Lebo and wife were consistent members of the United Brethren church of which church Mr. Lebo was a trustee and his son Lawrence T., secretary of Sabbath-school. Mr. Lebo served one term as tax collector of Halifax twp and one term in the same office for Wayne twp. _____________________________ LEBO: Page 1137 - bio of William H. Lebo, born 19 Aug 1841 in Mifflin twp in Dauphin county, a son of Joseph and Sarah (Shepley) Lebo. Joseph Lebo was born in Upper Paxton twp and was a shoemaker until 1849, when he moved to Wayne, then Jefferson twp, and bought 50 acres. He then removed to Halifax twp and died there in 1893, his first wife having died in 1860. His 2nd wife was Mary Shepley, by whom he had no children. The children by his first wife were: 1) Elsie, resides in Nebraska; 2) Elmira, died in 1859; 3) William H., married in Jefferson twp 4 Nov 1869 to Angeline Tobias, a daughter of Daniel W. and Mary Tobias; 4) John, in Illinois; 5) Samuel, deceased; 6) Mary, in Harrisburg; 7) Sarah, in Kansas; 8) Charles P., in Illinois; 9) Susan A., in Nebraska; 10) Joseph, born 23 April 1853 in Jefferson, now Wayne, twp (bio of him on pages 1137-1138), married at Berrysbrug 1 Sep 1878 to Sarah C. Hoffman, a daughter of John and Mary Enterline Hoffman. Sarah C. Hoffman was born 21 Feb 1857. Joseph and Sarah's children as of the book's writing were: J. Howard; Fred E; and Sarah Irene. Joseph Lebo was a Lutheran and a deacon in the church. He was a member of the Order United American Mechanics. Joseph and Sarah Shepley Lebo also had 3 more children who died young, so 13 children in all. William H. Lebo, above, and wife had the following children: 1) Ellen Louisa, died aged 17 months; 2) Thomas Edwin, shoemaker, at Harrisburg; 3) Daniel Tobias, a private in the US army at Fort Adams in Newport, R.I.; 4) Frank Lewis, farmer in Halifax twp; 5 & 6) Mary Alice and Harry Andrews, twins. Mary Alice married A.C. Koppenheffer of Halifax twp; 7) Edward Morris, living at home; 8) Bella Elsie, living at home; 9) Katie K, died young; 10) William Joseph, living at home; 11) James, died in infancy; 12) Carried Angie, living at home; 13) Sadie Estella, living at home; 14) Vergie Ann, died in infancy.
