I am looking for information on the father of my ggg-grandmother, Elizabeth Hardy. I have the following information: 1) Elizabeth was probably born in PA in 1789. Her mother's name was Agnes (maiden name unkown) born abt 1768 - died 4 Jan 1845 in Athens County, OH. 2) Elizabeth married James Welsh (Welch) - 17 Sept 1809 - Salem United Church of Christ (German Reformed) in Harrisburg, PA. 3) James was born in 1776, probably York County, PA. 4) They had 4 children. Thomas Alexander (my gg-grandfather) b. 1810; Mary Ann b. 1812 - both of these children were baptized at the same church the parents were married. There was another son, Crawford b. abt 1820 while the family was still in PA. A daughter, Melinda was born in 1829 in Belmont County, OH. 5) In the 1820 census, Agnes was not living with James and Elizabeth. 6) In October 1822, the family migrated to Belmont County, OH and Agnes moved with them. 7) In April 1843, Thomas (an ordained Cumberland Presbyterian minister) was called to serve a church in Athens County, OH. Agnes, James and Elizabeth moved with him. The 3 of them are buried in the Cumberland Cemetery behind the Alexander Presbyterian Church. 8) Thomas married Jane Greenlee - Belmont County, OH - 1839; MaryAnn married Samuel Morrisosn - Belmont County, OH - abt 1835; Melinda married John Orr - OH/WV? - abt 1846. I am looking for the father of Elizabeth; Agnes' maiden name. They probably married between 1785-1768). It is probable that he died between 1820 and 1822.
