Hello Shirley, I searched "ancestry.com" and found two entries for John B. KEISTER. #1. John B. Keister- 1 Batt'n Inf. (6 months 1863/4) He entered as a private and was discharged as a private. #2. John B. Keister- 200 Pennsylvania Inf. No dates of service. He entered as a private and was discharged as a sergeant. As for pension records, there were several entries for a John Keister, but none fit the unit in which he served. Sorry I can't be of more help. Have you tried "familysearch.com"?
