Hi List, Any suggestions for a source of information on the make-up of Dauphin County government during the late 1700s? I am researching a John Thome, who the PA State archives refer to as the Treasurer of Dauphin County in 1790. I have no further information on when he assumed office or how (election, appointment, etc.). I'd like to find a source (are there County Archives?) that would describe the structure of the county government at this time and would document when various officials took office and left office.
