Please and thank you... William Burris Rimby / Rimbey / Rembey etc. b. 1810 (suppose to be Dauphin Co.,) PA Shows up in Barren Co., Ky but don't have a date. Married in Barren Co. in 1840. Carpenter. Have no idea as to his parents. Family Lore says he was an orphan by the time he was 3 yr old. So if any Rimby's show that might be his parents or his 3 brothers, it would be a BIG help. Thank you so very much for your generous offer for lookups. I also do look-ups free at my website. Maybe I can help you. www.Beth-website.net/cds.html Beth Out of the Attic .. www.Beth-website.net -----Original Message----- From: 10.emlet@telus.net To: padauphi@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, 18 May 2007 12:16 PM Subject: [PADAUPHI] Look-ups in the 1896 Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County Look-ups in the 1896 Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County If anyone wants a look-up in the above book, let me know, as I have the book Sue ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PADAUPHI-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. Sorry, the only "Q" listed is the surname Quickel.
Hi Sue, There were a small number of QUAID's in Harrisburg. Please send what you have. Don Firsdon ,,,,,,,,,,,in KY
No Herbs or Trouts listed in the Dauphin book, but the following Trouts are listed in the Lebanon county book (lots of Dauphin folk were in Lebanon before moving to Dauphin). Listed but briefly in the Lebanon book are the following Trouts: Edward; Ephraim P.; Fredercik; Hieronimus; John; and William. Could any of there be yours? No other Trout names mentioned, just those given. Sue
Hi Don; Sorry, no Quaids or anything remotely close to that name listed. Sue
Look-ups in the 1896 Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County If anyone wants a look-up in the above book, let me know, as I have the book Sue
Looking at the 1900, 1910 and 1920 censuses, it seems that Vincent and wife had just the 3 children, the last 2 being Vincent(circa 1904) and Richard (circa 1908). The first child is called son Russ in the 1910 census (circa 1901) and is called daughter Fern (circa 1901, so same child) in the 1920 census. So, take your pick. Sue
Pertinent details re Vincent Stanford from page 574 of the 1896 Biographical Enc. of Dauphin County by Runk. Vincent Stanford was born in Franklin, Venango county, Pa on 17 Dec 1872, a son of Rev. Wesley M. and Rosa (Weimer) Stanford. His father, bishop of the United Evangelical church, was born in Venango county 15 March 1846. Vincent married Mary Wiest on 13 March 1895. She was a daughter of Rev. S.L. Wiest, publisher in the United Evangelical church and in charge of all their publishing interests located in Harrisburg. On pages 277-279 is a very lengthy bio of the father, Bishop Wesley M. Stanford. He married 2 August 1870, Rosa A. Weimer of the southern part of Stark county, Ohio. Bishop Stanford's father was Abraham Stanford who was born in 1817 and died in 1882. His mother was born in 1826 and died in 1893. Her maiden name was Domer. Bishop Wesley Stanford was one of 4 children (he had one brother and two sisters) Bishop Wesley and wife had 2 sons and 4 daughters; (Orpha Blanche, Vincent W., Abraham Leroy, Zella Corinne, Laura Eva, and Mina Grace). Hope this helps, Sue
