    3. Hi Shelley, My Aunt Mary Estep married Abraham Zimmerman he was born Jan. 29, 1839. Could you e-mail me a copy of the photo's you have? My e-mail is walker0369@msn.com<mailto:walker0369@msn.com> Thank you. Beverly ----- Original Message ----- From: Shelley Cardiel<mailto:cardiels@comcast.net> To: PADAUPHI@rootsweb.com<mailto:PADAUPHI@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 28, 2007 9:03 AM Subject: [PADAUPHI] ZIMMERMAN Family Photographs I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the ZIMMERMAN Family of Pennsylvania. The first is one of Sam ZIMMERMAN which was taken at the Bernhard Studio in Lykens, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Sam likely in his 40's at the time it was taken. The second photograph is identified as Harriett H. ZIMMERMAN and was also taken at the Bernard Studio in Lykens, PA. This second photograph also appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Harriett looking to be in her 40's or 50's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate some information regarding the couple as follows: Samuel L. ZIMMERMAN b. 20 Aug 1854 in Lykens, PA to parents Daniel & Sarah ZIMMERMAN. Samuel married Hattie TROUT on 7 Sept 1878 at Lykens, PA. I am hoping to locate someone from this ZIMMERMAN Family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to the care of their family. If you are a member of the family, or if you know someone who might be, please contact me. 3. Hold on, there!! I was hoping to post my details first. And, I didn't want to get anyone really excited, and then douse their hopes. At this point, I can handle some light-duty tasks. First, I have no personal ties to Dauphin Co. (that I know of), and so I don't get to the archive / city hall / ? for anything. My life right now is a bit hectic (trying to buy a house) ... then, once I move in, I'll have a whole new set of concerns. I work full-time, and have various pass-times and hobbies. If I find a bulletin board for this, I'll post something like: I can visit a location or a person, get info, and take digital pictures. I've been at my own genealogy for several years, and I believe that this is a needed service. Perhaps I'll get into more serious stuff at some point.

    3. I'm new to this list, so if this sounds like an old request, please forgive me. I'm looking for the father of George Sheets, born circa 1813 in Pennsylvania. Down to the Census records of 1840 he was living in Jefferson Twp., Dauphin Co., PA. I believe he died before the 1860 Census and was married to Mary____ b. circa 1816 in PA. They had the following children (all born in PA and assumedly in Jefferson Twp., Dauphin Co.): 1. Joseph J. b. July 1836 2. Isaac, b. ca 1837 3. Lucy Ann b. ca 1839 4. Sarah Ann b. ca 1841 5. Catharine b. ca 1845 6. William H. b. ca 1848 What I'm trying to prove or disprove is who is George's father? I have another George born about the same time who was the son of David Sheets (1775-1854) and Elizabeth Mary _____ (1777-1848) who resided in Adams Co., PA. Is this the same George? By the Census records it looks like a young George may have left his father's Adams Co. farm and went to Dauphin Co. by 1840, but this is only a guess. I have researched most of the available records I could easily get to (see my source listing below). Does anyone have a Will or Intestate listing for this George from Dauphin Co.? I also couldn't find a cemetery listing in the State Library holdings. (I live in the Harrisburg area.) “1840 US Census,” Jackson Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, 1840, Series: M704 Roll: 456 Page: 329. 2 males under age 5 1 male 20 & under 30 1 female 15 & under 20 1 female 20 & under 30 “1850 US Census,” Jefferson Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, M432 Roll: 775 Page: 328. I have other sources, related to George's son Joseph J. Sheets whom I am tracing downward. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! Curt Sanders http://homepage.mac.com/k3urt

    3. I am looking for information on the father of my ggg-grandmother, Elizabeth Hardy. I have the following information: 1) Elizabeth was probably born in PA in 1789. Her mother's name was Agnes (maiden name unkown) born abt 1768 - died 4 Jan 1845 in Athens County, OH. 2) Elizabeth married James Welsh (Welch) - 17 Sept 1809 - Salem United Church of Christ (German Reformed) in Harrisburg, PA. 3) James was born in 1776, probably York County, PA. 4) They had 4 children. Thomas Alexander (my gg-grandfather) b. 1810; Mary Ann b. 1812 - both of these children were baptized at the same church the parents were married. There was another son, Crawford b. abt 1820 while the family was still in PA. A daughter, Melinda was born in 1829 in Belmont County, OH. 5) In the 1820 census, Agnes was not living with James and Elizabeth. 6) In October 1822, the family migrated to Belmont County, OH and Agnes moved with them. 7) In April 1843, Thomas (an ordained Cumberland Presbyterian minister) was called to serve a church in Athens County, OH. Agnes, James and Elizabeth moved with him. The 3 of them are buried in the Cumberland Cemetery behind the Alexander Presbyterian Church. 8) Thomas married Jane Greenlee - Belmont County, OH - 1839; MaryAnn married Samuel Morrisosn - Belmont County, OH - abt 1835; Melinda married John Orr - OH/WV? - abt 1846. I am looking for the father of Elizabeth; Agnes' maiden name. They probably married between 1785-1768). It is probable that he died between 1820 and 1822. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. SueEd NY ____________________________________________________________________________________ Check out the hottest 2008 models today at Yahoo!
