    2. Yes, Barbara, very much aware of that cemetery. The oldest legible stone there simply says "W.T. 1749". We assume it is William Tennis who was married to Magdalena Levering. William and Magdalena were my 6th great grandparents. Most of the TENNIS'S left this area before the Civil War. I'm not aware of any at Ambler, Montgomery co., but I'm interested. Especially the naming of TENNIS avenue that runs thru Ambler from Plymouth Meeting area. 3. Hi Nelson - We may have communicated several years ago re: the Landis Strickler Cemetery off Middletown Road in Derry Township. Your email address looks familiar. Did you ever check with the Derry Township Historical Society? They now have a new librarian and she may be able to help you. When I volunteered there, I did a lot with the cemeteries and seem to remember Ebersole to be in the Stauffer's Church Cemetery, Shenk's Union Cemetery and maybe even the Spring Creek Cemetery. I know Fackler was also in the Shenk's Union and I think Union Deposit Cemetery. Shenks Union Cemetery is in Conawago Township, I believe. Although the Union Deposit Cemetery is north of Derry Township the other cemeteries I mentioned are in the southern area and not far from the Landis Strickler Cemetery. The Sand Hill / St. Paul / Hill Church Cemetery is also another old cemetery in the same general area and that might prove interesting. The listing for Sand Hill Cemetery also includes some early Christening records with names of parents which can be helpful. The society has the list of names for each cemetery on the web site but only dates for a couple of the cemeteries. I also compiled a list of Ancestors listed by century and they should still have my data base of where the name appears in their library. I do remember indexing the name Countryman on an early map, maybe 1875, so that might be too late. Since you are in Dillsburg, you may be close enough to visit them. You might call ahead so that the librarian has time to learn where and what resources she has before you visit. Visits to the library are free other than copying charges. http://hersheyhistory.com/library.html Hope this helps. 3. Hello Bonnie, I'm curious if you can identify some of the members of Elizabeth SHRENK ENSMINGER's household in the 1870 census. (Her husband, Philip, had died n 1864.) The image appears to read (using the enumerator's spelling): ENSINGER, Elizabeth, age 60, female ENSINGER, Fannie, age 25, female (her daughter Frances Marion) ENSINGER, John, age 29, male (her son John Tyler) ENSINGER, Edgar, age 2, male (his son) SHENK, Nanette, age 17, male SHENK, Sarah, age 25, female WIN, Bate, age 13, female WIN, Emma Easy, age 2/12, female I'm guessing the "SHENKS" would be children of one of Elizabeth's brothers? They have some information the Fackler and Ebersole families and possibly on the others. They have good cemetery listings for Dauphin County.
