    2. Friends-- William Guerin was born in March of 1875 or 1876. I wish to find when and to whom he married. From his birth date, I would assume that he was married in the 1892 to 1900 time period. And, from a few Harrisburg City Directories, he was found living in Harrisburg in the 1890s, and this may suggest that he was married there.. Please note that the Guerin name is sometimes spelled as Geurin, Gurin, Gairin, Garren, and Gearen, and William sometimes went by the name of Willie. If someone could do a lookup for me on his marriage information it would be greatly appreciated. 3. Ann, thank you. Yes, I am almost certain this is the Peter Hoover I am looking for. I don't know how I overlooked this in the East Hanover Bi-centennial book but I did. While visiting an elderly aunt and uncle the other day (discussing Hoovers ... my grandfather's stepfather was a Hoover), they mentioned "Pete" Hoover and the fact that some of his uniform (Civil War) was in the summer house of my grandparents when it burned during the early fifties. This I found of interest and would like to know more about Peter Hoover. The information you provided will start me on my way. The picture of him in the Bi-centennial book has the caption "The last Civil War veteran". Surely some of the local papers would have recognized this and I am hoping there are articles written. I would like to "flesh out" this last veteran a little. Thanks again.
