    1. Re: [PADAUPHI] Williams genealogy
    2. I have a couple of books regarding the Dauphin area. I checked them and did not find the ones you are looking for. I did check the census records and found this: 1930 census Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA Lutz, Joseph 68 Maria F. 68 Williams, Catherine E. 27 born 1903 Robert E. 6 grandson (would appear from the ages that he was great-grandson??) Gloria J. 4 _____ 5 months 1920 census Swatara, Dauphin, PA Williams, Henry E. 51 born VA Mabel G. 39 born VA Edward H. 19 single Naomi R. 17 Everett C. 16 Emmett T. 13 1910 census Swatara, Dauphin, PA Williams, Henry E. 40 Mabel 30 Edward H. 10 Naomi R. 8 Everett C. 6 Emmett T. 3 1900 census Swatara, Dauphin, PA Williams, Henry E. born Feb 1870 in VA parents both born in VA married 1896 to Irene M. Williams, Henry E. 30 Irene M. 20 Henry E. 3 months Renica, George 26 Looks like Irene was the first wife. Between 1900 and 1908/09 she is no longer in the picture and Henry has remarried to Mabel. Looks like Mabel was probably related to George Renica. Good luck in your search. Cindy AZ

    1. Re: [PADAUPHI] Williams genealogy
    2. My late husband was Robert Edward Williams born Jan. 1924 in Harrisburg. His father was Edward Williams (name may have been Henry Edward). I believe he was born 1900 and died about 1940. Edward married a Catherine Elizabeth Lutz and they had two children: Robert born in 1924 and a daughter, Gloria born a couple years later. Edward and Catherine were divorced when children were very small and Robert nor Gloria ever knew their father or anything about his family. I do know that Edwards father was named Henry and his mother was Mabel Irene Ronica. Also that the Williams family came to PA from VA - do not know a time frame. Thanks for your reply and any info you may have. We don't have much to work with and my sons would like to know something of their father's family.

    1. Re: [PADAUPHI] Harrisburg State Hospital
    2. Hi Phil My grandparents lived and worked at the Harrisburg State Hospital for most of their adult lives and my grandfather was a photography hobbyist. About 11 years ago, my father donated a large number of photos to the hospital's historical society/museum. I don't know if the historical society is still in existence or where the photos may be now. Perhaps someone at Dauphin County Historical Society or Pennsylvania State Archives knows. When the hospital closed, I heard one of those groups might accept the historical society/museum's holdings. I still have a few photos left, but they are mostly of family. -----Original Message----- From: Phil Thomas <thomasp94@yahoo.com> To: PADAUPHI@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, Jan 24, 2010 10:01 am Subject: [PADAUPHI] Harrisburg State Hospital Hello, My name is Phil and I am the owner of a website dedicated to the Harrisburg tate Hospital called City on the Hill. 1. [PADAUPHI] SNYDER Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Louisa SNYDER which was taken at the S. L. Miller Studio in Lykens, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Louisa likely in her 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate a possible match in census records as follows: 1880 census of Londonderry, PA: A. SNYDER, age 34, a Shoemaker, born PA, parents born PA Louisa SNYDER, wife, age 32, Keeping House, born PA, parents born PA Katie SNYDER, dau, age 11, Housework, born PA Clara SNYDER, dau, age 9, born PA Mary SNYDER, dau, age 5, born PA William SNYDER, son, age 3, born PA I am hoping to locate someone from this SNYDER Family, so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
