    1. [PADAUPHI] PROCASCO surname
    2. elizabeth
    3. Hello list, Several years ago I received some information about my PROCASCO ancestors. I am just returning to working on this line again and wonder if anyone on this list is connected. I know that Charles Procasco b. 1833 was the immigrant ancestor, but I would like to know on what ship. I haven't been able to find him in an ships records so I'm wondering if his surname was spelled differently. His obituary says, "Deceased was a native of Germany and came to the United States in 1852, locating at Frostburg, Md., where he was married to Miss Minnie Delano over 52 years ago." I would also like to find information about his daughter, Wilhemina (Minnie) b. 1857 in Baltimore, Md. She seems to have been a little 'wild' and disappeared for a while and then returned to PA. This line of Procasco relocated to Wiconisco, Dauphin Co, PA. My connection is Ella M. (Ellie) Procasco who married Norman C. Heckert. Would love to share info. "Any" help on this family is appreciated. Elizabeth

    3. I have a flip-pal portable scanner that I love. You can scan anything of any size and the image is stitched back together. I have scanned photos in photo albums, from photos hanging on walls, etc. You can learn more at www. flip-pal-affiliates.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=190 Deb On Fri, Apr 13, 2012 at 1:56 PM, <jcatlin5@comcast.net> wrote: > > > 1. 3. There is a new kind out that you feed things through, and they're very fast. However you wouldn't be able to copy pages of books on it, or daguerrotypes, as you can with a flatbed scanner. You can google reviews of scanners. Or, if it's a single project and not a huge amount of photos you're wanting them for, you might see if you could do it at one of those business center stores or have someone scan them for you. In my experience you're likely to also want good photo touchup software, if for no other reason than that the photos have faded and yellowed. I have an ancient program, ulead photo express, that does really well at old photos; otherwise I use Paint Shop Pro X - IX would do. I understand the newer versions don't work all that well. IX may possibly be free online. Dora On 4/13/2012 12:56 PM, jcatlin5@comcast.net wrote: > > 1. I am in the market for a portable scanner. Does anyone have one and what is your opinion of it? This workshop is FREE and open to members of The Perry Historians and non-members alike. Lunch will be on your own... there are various eating establishments nearby... or you can pack your lunch and eat in our kitchen area. Please be sure to bring along your genealogical research as there may be time at the end of the session to do research on your own in the Harry Lenig Library. Volunteers of our facility will be available to assist you, if you aren't already familiar with our resources. We do ask, if you are thinking about or planning on attending, that you reply to this e-mail with the number of attendees... so that we can make sure we have enough copies of any materials we may wish to hand out. 1. [PADAUPHI] Isett Family
    2. Deb Riley
    3. I am new to the list and am researching the Isett surname in Dauphin County. I have a number of names that I am confident are tied together, but am unsure exactly how. Is there anyone else on this list researching the Isett name? If so, I would love to hear from you! Of recent interest is Henry Isett, who was born about 1795. He had children named: George Stine Isett (1836-1862) Mary Isett m. Stailey Elizabeth Isett m. Carpenter Rebecca Isett m. Stoten Amanda Isett Rosanna Isett m. Brown I am unsure of who Henry's wife was, but she seems to have died before 1850. I'm also wondering where Henry is buried (he died in 1860), who his parents were, and more about his children and grandchildren. I have researched the Isett family extensively, but am unsure of how Henry ties in with the Dauphin County Isett line. It seems like his family is interconnected with Elizabeth (VanGundy) Howard Isett Fox and her sister, Mary. It seems that they helped raise some of Henry's children. Any help would be most appreciated. I am not from the area, and would greatly appreciate any look-ups or hints toward on-line resources. Thanks so much, Deb (Fisher) Riley
