    1. [Dauphin Co PA] Brooklyn (Harrisburg)
    2. Beverly Wyld
    3. I found a Harrisburg Patriot article dated 1895 that mentions a man being a resident of "Brooklyn". Apparently this was an area in Harrisburg. Does anyone on the list know anything about his location? Why was it called Brooklyn? Streets mentioned were Herr and Cameron. Thanks. Beverly Walmer Wyld

    1. [Dauphin Co PA] The Perry Historians' Special Presentation - Local Indian Artifacts
    2. Donna Heller Zinn
    3. Special Presentation hosted by The Perry Historians January 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoverter Archives at the Harry Lenig Library Indian Artifacts A Glimpse into the Lives of the Local Native Americans special speaker: Jean Tuzinski The existence of Native Americans along Perry County's waterways and in the Tuscarora forest has been well documented by professional archeologists. Today, the abundance of stone artifacts, left behind in long abandoned campsites, reveals the daily life of these people. Jean Tuzinski will share her collection and discuss the various items that she has found by the shores of the Juniata River on her home property. This is an opportunity to learn who the local tribes were, when and where they lived in Perry County, and how they managed to survive without rifles, cell phones and microwave ovens! This presentation is targeted for history enthusiasts of all ages. There will be light refreshments served following the presentation. The presentation is FREE and open to all. It will be held in the Hoverter Archives at the Harry Lenig Library (home of The Perry Historians) on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.. Check out The Perry Historians' website for physical location and directions. www.ThePerryHistorians.org In conjunction with Jean Tuzinski's Special Presentation on Indian Artifacts, The Perry Historians' master artistic exhibit designer, Sylvia Hocker has put together a very nice display of Indian Artifacts in the reading room area of the library. This display will be available and on view until the date of the Special Presentation after which time it will be dismantled and th artifacts will be returned to the owner. We do THANK Jean Tuzinski - who entrusted her collection to us for the use of this display.

    1. [Dauphin Co PA] Radabaugh, Raudabaugh etc
    2. Hello - I am interested in a Samuel Radabaugh (similar spellings) who lived in Dauphin County PA and apparently had Native American ancestors. The lady in question is Laura M Radabaugh etc who was born ca 1877 and was the daughter of Samuel Radabaugh and Mary Doudle (sp). Laura had a sister Lola who was born 1880. Samuel was deceased by the time Lola was born. The children's mother was 42 in 1880 making her born ca 1837 in PA. Laura married Jacob Penrose Shroy and they lived in Middletown Dauphin Co PA They had at least 10 children one of whom was Adam b. ca 1896. Any help would be appreciated in finding the truthfulness of the Native American connection. Thanks Jim Avery Dover PA
