    3. I have no idea if you will be allowed to see the paper copies. I have found the current Register of Wills/Clerk of the Orphans Court Sandra C. Snyder very uncooperative. I had dealings with the office when it was run by her predecessor and never had a problem so the problem is Sandra C. Snyder. 3. in 1823 Valentine Myers is deceased and he had a wife and children. Desperately, need the Guardianship Papers if there were any and who the guardian was? WE need to verify if this Valentine Myers is ours. We believe his father was PHILIP MYERS ie variants and served in Rev War as Wagon driver. Valentine helped him (Story) Valentine according to Bible records mar a Betsey Blessinger? ie BLESSING prior to marriage for the er implies marriage I am told. No idea where marriage took place, We suspect data written in bible at the time Valentine's son John died, not before (three generations all in the same hand.) Will pay for assistance and or copies of data regarding same we have Valentine Myers Will but no one pulled Guardianship or Probate or other data to verify this was ours. MYERS MEYERS, and variants. 3. If he's Catholic, he's likely to have been buried wherever Catholics were buried, which usually isn't where everyone else is buried. But I see that that church disowned him when he married - I'd still just make sure he isn't buried there. I've seen the Catholic Church accept 11th hour confessions. My 3x great grandmother in Montreal is buried in the Catholic cemetery, and her last two of five children were christianed there, with the 4th child being baptized twice. She had married a Presbyterian. I don't find a record of the marriage, at all, only the baptisms of the five children, one of whom was baptized into two faiths. Knowing that family, she probably fell out with her husband and back slid. Also I think the last two children may not have lived long. Dora I usually call the cemeteries and ask if the person is buried there. If there is a convoluted procedure to find out they'll tell you what it is. It's also possible that if it was far enough back it's been transcribed, and the local historical society has the transcription. 3. I am seeking information about a Wallace family that lived in the area. I have two sisters, Elizabeth and Jane Wallace. According to Elizabeth's obit she was born in Perry County, PA somewhere between 1819 and 1820. The family moved to Manayunk, PA in 1836 and then she went to Cincinnati, OH to be with an older sister somewhere around 1840-41 where she first married James Cahill who died in 1850 and then married John Davis. Jane Wallace was born in Highspire, Dauphin Co, PA June 1823 according to her death certificate. She died in Philadelphia in 1902 and is buried in the Leverington Cemetery, Roxborough, PA. Jane first married Bishop Priest on 3 Jan 1841 in Manayunk. She had one son Samuel B. Priest b about 1847 and her husband Bishop was dead by the 1850 census. She married 2nd Levi Patton sometime after 1850 and had one son Levi born in 1857. Levi Sr. died in 1875 and Jane remained widowed after that living with either Samuel or Levi until she died. I did find a Sarah Wallace dying on Oct 29, 1835 and buried in Pine Hill cemetery but do not know if there is any connection. Elizabeth and Jane's father was born in Ireland and at sometime came to PA. The mother according to census was born possibly in MD. There is a possibility the older sister may have been a Mary or May born in PA about 1819 and possibly married to a Thomas Searles. Does anyone know anything about this family? I would love to solve one of my brick walls. Thanks so much. Glynice Pomykal >

Thanks for such an offer! I don't know if you have time, but here goes. Jacob Weiss lived in Highspire, with his wife, Joanna Susanna, and their up to 8 children (the children may not all have been living at any point in time). He was born in Switzerland, and his wife was born in Germany. They lived in the U.S. by about 1835 because their first child was born then. They probably married in the U.S. as well. He outlived his wife, and lived with his daughter in Steelton for a time before dying 30 May 1887. He owned a good sized plot of land on the railroad tracks near the railroad station in Highspire, on an 1875 property map of Dauphin county. It is shown in the 1850 census as worth $40, which I'm told was about the worth of 2 small farms. Probably it didn't yet have the railroad track going through it, and the rights to that must have been purchased from him. Whatever houses were on it then or since were torn down after flooding in the 1960's. Between Front and Water Streets, Jacob's land took up the whole block - it shows as 5 lots. next block had 2 homes and teh railroad station. The railroad ran right through it! What I'd REALLY like is copies of the deeds - the one where he bought the land, before 1850, the one where the railroad gained the rights to run the track through is property, and the sale of the land when he went to live with his daughter. I don't know when that occurred, but I'd say between 1875 and 1880. In 1875 the map shows him owning the land there, and in 1880 he lived with his daughter in Steelton. Always possible he still owned the land, of course. If you need a copy of this property map I could dig it out, scan it and send it to you. Another thing that might be helpful is any local newspaper articles about his death, 30 May 1887, or his wife, 3 Oct 1875. Both are buried in the Highspire cemetery, and I have photos of the graves. He was lving in Steelton when he died, but his wife may have died on his land in Highspire. One daughter, Sarah, was married to John J. Conklin by about 1866 when their first son was born, and they lived in Steelton. Another, Mary Ann, married John Dehart in 1861 or 1862, and they lived in Highspire. Two of the children died and I've no idea what happened to the rest. They allegedly attended some kind of over the cliff Evangelical Church - the Holy something. Thanks alot! Even if you don't have time to do it. Grin. Yours, Dora Smith Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I know where a Bible is that says in it that it was bought at the sale. I hope to find proof of who bought the Bible or anything to prove there was actually a Bible sold at the sale. I looked at microfilm decades ago and it seems the record of his death is there and that a sale took place but the inventory was incomplete. Perhaps its complete now? Perhaps the original paper copies exist somewhere? My interest is in a Henry Richard/Reichert believed son of Mathias and Anna Reichert burried at the Hill Church and lived along the Swatara Creek somewhere. IF anyone knows where their land was I'd love to learn that. Ray Richard Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Except for Lewis' wife's name. Yes, I have Aaron's children's names. They are (from oldest to youngest): Anna, Lewis, Eleanor, Robert & Edward. Again, I found that all the boys are buried in Chisuk Emuna Cemetery. There's other Rubins in there too but I don't know who they are, like Israel, Hyman, Henry, Samuel, etc. I'm only concerned about the kids and the Lewis & Ethel buried there. I don't know where Aaron/Arron is. He doesn't seem to be included in the cemetery listing on findagrave.com. An obituary I have for Aaron's brother Frank gives parents as Lewis & Ethel. Siblings as Aaron & Henry. So that's where I got the info I shared in my message. Where'd you get the info from your message? That seems very close to mine. If you like, you can email me at jdarment@yahoo.com. Thank you for the marriage info. That'll help me a good bit. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The only other info I know is that Lewis was born abt 1860 & died 1914 in Hbg. There's children of an Aaron & Lena Rubin buried there. Aaron was born in Russia in 1890 & died in 1973, Hbg. He could be the son of Lewis & Ethel, if so, that would mean Lewis was born in Russia as well or close to there. My main focus is Lewis (born abt 1860). Aaron had a son Lewis, so that could mean something. Can anyone shed light on Lewis born abt 1860? I can't find him in any censues. Any help would be great. And very appreciated.
