    3. Correct. Steelton has no historical society dedicated to the steel town, but of course much of its resources are found at the Historical Society of Dauphin County: http://www.dauphincountyhistoricalsociety.org/ The Friends of Midland Cemetery is dedicated to preserving the history of Steelton's African American community, and much history can be found on the Afrolumens Project webpage provided for them: http://www.afrolumens.org/rising_free/friends.html The Afrolumens Project website is dedicated to Central Pennsylvania's African American heritage and history: http://www.afrolumens.org/ George F. 1. Re: [PADAUPHI] PADAUPHI Digest, Vol 2, Issue 21
    2. I don't know about a Historical Society but on Rootsweb, check for your names. Or write to the owner of the North Annville Tree, if you can not find your names. The owner is a connection to the Reese family who is a part of the Ensmingers and has done a great deal of work on that area of the Lebanon, Dauphin Co. There is also a website and I don't have it right at hand with churches and cemeteries for the area, either in the Lebanon Co. links or Dauphin Co. Do you have a name you are looking for? 1. [PADAUPHI] Samuel Kiefer
    2. Barbara
    3. I don't know which county this man belongs in, but the announcement was on the Douglas Co., KS mail list The Republican Daily Journal of Lawrence, KS, 6 May 1879, page 4 BALDWIN ITEMS Mr. Samuel Kiefer, one of the earliest citizens of this community, died last night. More than two years ago Mr. Kiefer, nearly three score and ten, was prostrated by an attach of sciatic rheumatism, since which he has been an invalid and sufferer from that painful malady, on several occasions his life seemed in the greatest peril. During the last year, however, he had so far recovered as to walk about within narrow limits on crutches, and even to take short drives about the town and country. His family and friends, in view of his gradual improvement, were beginning to experience some relief from their prolonged anxiety and were indulging the hope of his return to health. A few days ago, Mr. Kiefer was taken with a congestive chill, from the effects of which his weakened powers were unable to rally. After a repetition of the attack he sank rapidly until death closed the struggle. Mr. Kiefer was a native of Pennsylvania, but came in early life to Ohio, where he was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda Dallas, on whom the sorrow of broken companionship falls with sad power. The deceased was a man of upright principles and honorable life; a Christian in profession and practice. His nature was kindly and generous, his temperament cheerful and buoyant, always exerting a pleasant and happy influence over those about him. His death is a source of profound regret and inspires sentiments of sincerest sympathy for the bereaved family.. His sons, Mr. C. W. Kiefer, Deputy United States Collector, of Leavenworth, and Mr. A. D. Kiefer, of Independence, were present with the remainder of the family, all of whom reside here, to pay the last tribute of affection. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Dr. Dennison, assisted by Rev. P. T. Rhodes, Rev. Mr. Shipe, and Prof. Weatherby.
