    3. Sue Blanche is her right name, she always went by Sadie....She is my Half Aunt, her father JOHN SHEETS married Sarah Alice Zimmerman (b..abt 1857)...They had Anne, Margaret, Carrie and Blanche. Sarah married Edward Specht abt 1892 and had six more children which includes my mother Mary E Specht.(Who died Dec 1, 1934) Carrie from the Sarah's first marriage married a Neiswender, She was at my mother's funeral Dec 4, 1934 per obit. There was no brother, only 4 girls. I have the census on William and Blanche with the 4 children you mentioned. I do appreciate the information you furnished......Right now I am looking for some one to visit the Pleasant View Cem, Robesonia and take picture of their head stone. Thanks you have been help Joe In Sunny Arizona -----Original Message----- From: padauphi-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:padauphi-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Sue Sent: Monday, March 26, 2007 1:27 PM To: padauphi@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PADAUPHI] Bitterman Joe, I'm not researching this family but did find some 'stuff' that might be of help. As you probably know, William Bitterman and wife Blanche (always called Blanche in the censuses, never Amanda) are in the 1910 - 1930 Berks county censuses: their 4 children in these censuses from eldest to youngest are: Anna M.(1906); Carrie M.(1909); Viola C.(1911); and John W.(1915). According to the 1910 census, it appears that they were married abt 1905. In the 1930 census, enumerated with them, is William Bitterman's SINGLE brother-in-law, Dewey Lee Neiswender (born 1899 and died 1984 in Berks county). Why I stress 'single' is because that would indicate that the only relationship would be through his wife, therefore Blanche's brother. Dewey Lee Neiswender (Neuschwander was the original spelling I believe) is with his father Ephraim (born abt 1838 in Pa) in the Upper Mahoney, Northumberland censuses. In the 1900 census, Ephraim is with his (at least) 2nd wife, married abt 1899. Her name is Carry/Carrie (born abt 1878). His first wife was named Abbey(born abt 1844). He had a large number of children by Abbey, but there are no census records between 1880 and 1900, so do not know which children she had after 1880, or if there was another wife between Abbey and Carry. I would suspect that he married within a couple of years after his (first?) wife's death, so if this is Abbey, she is probably Blanche's mother. I should think there would be some records of this family in the Upper Mahoney, Northumberland area. 2. Hi Nick, Thanks for the advice on rubbing the gravestone. I thought of it but had no materials. Next time I am in the area I will try that. The stone appears to be lomestone and may be to far gone but it's worth a try. Thanks again. Warm Regards, John ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. 3. John; Have you tried to get a RUBBING of the stone, some of the time you may be able to make out the eroded lettering. A large sheet of paper and a large crayon works wonders. 1. [PADAUPHI] Fanny Crum (1832-1857)
    2. I am currently working on solving my biggest brick wall. My great grandmother, Fanny Crum/Crumb was born 23 Oct 1832 and died 20 Apr 1857. She is buried in the Trinity (Hill) Lutheran Church Cemetery, south of Colebrook,Lebanon Co.,PA. There are two women named Fanny Crum in the 1850 Census who live in Upper Swatara Township, Dauphin Co., relatively nearby. One age 17 lives in the household of Abraham Crum and is found in the same household in the 1860 census, so she is not the one. The other is 19 and lives in the home of Joseph B. Baker and is probably a servant. This may be the one, however, there are no clues as to the parents or siblings. Based on family data and a visit to the gravesites, she probably married my great grandfather Jacob B. Foltz between 11 Sep 1850 and 10 May 1851 when their first child Emma was born (she died 22 Feb 1855). They had another child born about 1852 (this is the only thing readable on the gravestone) and my grandfather Franklin Crum(b) Foltz, born 15 Sep 1855. Fanny died 20 Apr 1857 and Jacob died 2 Apr 1859. In 1870 and 1860 Census at ages 14 and 5, Franklin Crum(b) Foltz lived with Jacob (age 65/55) and Barbara Mayer (age 60/55). He had a $4000 Personal Estate in 1870. He died 2 August 1937 in Palmyra, Lebanon Co., PA. I am interested in knowing any information about the parents and siblings of Fanny Crum(b). I have fairly extensive information the Foltz Family. 2. ewintr
    3. Hello, Can anyone tell me how to contact the organization/association that takes care of the Riverview Cemetery in Heckton/Linglestown, Dauphin County, PA? I heard that it was partly destroyed by teenagers just the other night. The teens were caught in the act and are in custody but many tombstones were detroyed or damaged. I have quite a few ancestors in this cemetry so more than likely some of their tombstones were involved. I would like to find out which ones and what I can do to help. I had taken pictures of my family sites about 3 years ago and they may be able to be of help in fixing things. My surnames there include HECKERT, FRANK, and TURNS. Can anyone help me contact the caretakers of this cemetery? Thank you, Elizabeth ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting? 1. [PADAUPHI] BOYD Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of James BOYD Jr. with what would appear to be his Mother. The photograph was taken at the Lemer Studio in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania when James was just an infant. In addition to his name, someone has also written "Born July 2 1888" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to find the following information regarding James and his family: James BOYD b. 2 July 1888 in Harrisburg, PA to parents John Yeomans BOYD & Eleanor Gilmore HERR, he died before 1970. His father John Yeomans BOYD was b. 19 Aug 1862 in Danville, PA to parents James BOYD and Louisa YEOMANS. His Mother, Eleanor Gilmore HERR was b. 18 Feb 1866 in Harrisburg, PA to parents Andrew Jackson HERR and Nancy Jane GILMORE. James BOYD had three siblings, Andrew Jackson Herr BOYD b. 29 Feb 1892; Eleanor Gilmore BOYD b. 18 Feb 1894; and Louisa Yeomans BOYD b. 7 Mar 1896.
