We may have talked before, but I wanted to touch bases with you. Joseph Kaylor is my 3rd Great-Grandfather. Unfortunately, I have the same information about his parents as you do, so I can't help you any further on that. But drop me a line anytime, I'd love to hear from you. The information I have is that his father was a tavern owner in West Donegal Twp. but I do not have his name or that of his wife or any dates. Assuming from Joseph Kaylor's birth date, it would have to be in the late 1700's.
I'm looking for information on my Grandfather and his family. Leroy Consylman was born March 13, 1094 in Harrisburg, Dauphine County, PA. He and his parents are listed in the 1910 Census. At that time, Leroy was 6yrs, his father, Frank was 33, and mother, Leticia was 30. That the extent of my information on this part of the family. Would appreciate any info you might have. The information I have is that his father was a tavern owner in West Donegal Twp. but I do not have his name or that of his wife or any dates. Assuming from Joseph Kaylor's birth date, it would have to be in the late 1700's. Joseph Kaylor was b April 9, 1803 in Lanc. Co., Warwick Twp. (now Penn Twp) and died May 31, 1878 in Dauphin Co., PA. He married Nancy Anna Hoffer on December 9, 1823. She was the daughter of Joseph Hoffer and Elizabeth Fischer. She was born March 10, 1807 in Lanc. Co., or Dauphin Co., and died October 24, 1863. They are both buried in the Hoffer Cemetery, Conewago Twp., Dauphin Co., PA. I live in Memphis, TN, so it is impossible for me to do any research in the libraries or courthouses in that area. I would appreciate any information that anyone can give me. Thanks, Carolyn Kaylor
East Harrisburg Cemetery is along Herr St. starting around 20th Street to 28th Street. Bailey Street is near the Harrisburg Cemetery, off of 13th & State Streets. I have ancestors from Harrisburg during that time period also. The ones that died around 1880 or so are in Harrisburg, the ones who died later on are in East Harrisburg. You should call the Dauphin County Courthouse-717-255-2657- for information and cost. There are also deeds indexed on microfilm at the State Archives in Harrisburg for that time period and records. I found my great-grandfather's name for 1896 listed in the index, but the actual record of the deed is at the courthouse. Try this web page for the State Archives. It lists what they have for each county in PA: www.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Historical_Museum/DAM/rg/rg47m.htm. The Historical Society of Dauphin County is 717-233-3462.
