    1. [PADAUPHI] Looking for CONSYLMAN
    2. Kathye Thornton
    3. I'm looking for information on my grandfather's family. They are listed in the 1910 census for Dauphin county, PA. Leroy Consylman (my grandfather) was 6yrs old in 1910. It shows his parents, Frank (33yrs) and Leticia (30yrs). If anyone has any information on this family I'd appreciate an email. Thanks Kathye _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 3. Charlie, I very much appreciate you looking - Thank You. What little I have, other than the listing in the census records, comes from the 1890 Will of James Lynch: "He also mentioned a "small tract of land" known as Ebbecke's land," 7 acres of chestnut timber and pasture land, fenced with post and rail fences." This tract , adjoining land of Jacob Oldweiler, Mr. Weaver, and the River Road, he valued at $600." This line is related through marriage to the Lynch family. 1. [PADAUPHI] EBERSOLE Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Clint EBERSOLE taken in Hummelstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The photo was taken at the M. E. Bare Studio likely sometime in the 1870's. Clint appears to be in his teens at the time the photo was taken. I'd hoped to locate his family and return the photograph, however, to date I've been unable to locate any relatives. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [PADAUPHI] County Government, 1760-1805
    2. Hi List, Any suggestions for a source of information on the make-up of Dauphin County government during the late 1700s? I am researching a John Thome, who the PA State archives refer to as the Treasurer of Dauphin County in 1790. I have no further information on when he assumed office or how (election, appointment, etc.). I'd like to find a source (are there County Archives?) that would describe the structure of the county government at this time and would document when various officials took office and left office. Thanks. George

I do know that Johan had 6 acres in Londonderry Twp, and that Michael and Sarah lived in Middletown. Son Charles lived in nearby Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, and married Mary Gross. Anyone researching these lines? Joanne > > In all your previous correspondences you choose not to mention the name > of the ancestor you are looking for. Care to share it? I was surprised at the number of people living in the township. How can I get a copy of the Gazetteer you mentioned? Also are there any maps of the area during the 1820-1830 time period such as the 1875 maps that are being published on the Dauphin Co. website?. > > Thanks again! > > > > Gwen > > > > Jay Osman wrote: > > > > > Gwen, > > > In the 1832 Gazetteer of Pennsylvania, WEST HANOVER Twp. This is a real puzzle, good luck. You know of course there is a Hanover Borough in Heidelberg Twp., York Co. about 25 miles south of Harrisburg, and a Hanover Village in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., at least in 1832. > > > Regards, > > > Jay > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: Gwen Coleman > > > To: PADAUPHI-L@rootsweb.com > > > Sent: Tuesday, July 11, 2000 2:50 PM > > > Subject: [PADAUPHI-L] Find location in Hanover twp > > > > > > I would like to determine the location of an ancestor who died in > > > Hanover twp in 1828. 1. [PADAUPHI] Eshenour& Osman Store in Oberlin
    2. Does anybody know how I can find out more about the Eshenour & Osman General Store that was operating in Oberlin in the 1930's? I came across an ad in a 1931 Swatara Township High School yearbook, of which belonged to my late Father-in-law and I would like to find out more about it and who the Eshenour owner was of that partnership. I have some ideas that it may have been some of our family but need to know where to find the proof for this. Would the State Library be the place to look? Or the Dauphin County Historical Society? What about Middletown Historical Society? I will be in the area researching in a few weeks and would like to try to locate such information. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Betty L. Eshenour

    1. Re: [PADAUPHI] Surname: Fox
    2. No I'm not in that line, but I have the inscriptions for that cemetery, and I will mail them out to you. There are several errors on the recorded inscriptions of Fox. When I visited the cemetery in Susquehanna Twp., I noted that there were quite a few German spellings (FUCHS) of the name. There are none listed as Fuchs in the book. I hope this information helps you. Karl Fox

    3. Karl, Thank you for your help. I do not have access to the book. I would very much like your help. Are you of this line of Foxes? My GGrandfather, Christian Fox, left Dauphin Co. & came to Lafayette Co., Mo. by 1860. He fought in the Civil War here. I am so anxious to learn more about his family he left behind in Dauphin Co., Pa. Thank you again, Beverly J. 3. Regarding the Fox inquiry below: > From: "Beverly J. Beverly Sullins sullins@iland.net > There was an Adam Fox (or Fuchs) family near Campbelltown, now at the very western edge of Lebanon County but before 1813 as part of Dauphin Co. Adam Fox: 7 Mar 1777 - 26 Aug 1854) and his wife Elisabeth [no last name known to me], d. 27 Apr 1822, 42 y 8 d). They are buried at Salem U.C.C. (then the German Lutheran and Reformed) Cemetery, Campbelltown. They had at least the following children: Anna (24 Feb 1806) Elizabeth (b. 24 Sept 1807) Sarah (b. 3 Aug 1808) Susanna (b. 21 March 1811) Margaret (b. 19 Sept 1812) Levi (b. 6 Sept 1813) Thus, the above John Fox was not likely of this family unless John and Anna were twins. Anyone know? Cordially, Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA
