    1. [PADAUPHI] Rev. Bucher records
    2. Listmembers; According to the Pastoral Record of Rev. John Conrad Bucher for Cumberland and Dauphin Counties, 1763-1769, he performed a baptism of Mary Kelly on 17 Nov 1768. The location of the baptism is Redstone. Would anyone know where this might be? I always thought out near Pittsburgh. Did Bucher travel this far? Is there another Redstone? Also, under remarks for this baptism (ancestry.com) is James Kelly, N.B. Anyone know what N.B. signifies? Many thanks, Kathy Kelly

    3. Hi all: After receiving the CD of Egle's works and comparing it to what I already had, I've updated those pages to reflect corrections and additions. Anyone interested in these Dauphin County cemeteries in Lower Swatara Township can review them at: SCHWARTZ - NISSLEY <http://home.att.net/~charliefies/Swartz.html> Before linking to "The Rest Of The Story", be aware that it is all text and quite detailed about the emigration difficulties endured by most immigrants; hence somewhat lengthy. See for yourself. References to all sources known to me. The LS Twp map is also big. 1. [PADAUPHI] Recorded Millersburg Deaths by Aunt Kate!
    2. That " Aunt Kate " was really a super lady to record all those deaths and for so many years! She must have been a genealogist or a dedicated retired school teacher! I was able to recognize some names that are in the family lines that connect to ours, that I didn't have before. While I realize that there is a chance it may not be one of our kinsfolks even though the same name, it's a chance it might be, so will look up the obit at State Library one day. "Aunt Kate "listed the Minister's who conducted the deceased funeral. Since I am not out of state, is there a book published or a source that will tell me which church specific ministers served.?Okay, some of you more knowledgeable people, here's a new project for you to share with others! If one knew the church the minister served, one could go to that church for the records;it might lead to a lot of information on an entire family and other families that one has been searching for all these years. I noticed that one minister that seemed very popular was Rev. Mark Burger. Anybody have any idea which church he served as Pastor? Thanks in advance, Betty L. Eshenour

My paternal grandfather, Milton O. Smith, was born in Lykens,1872. There is a Maggie Smith buried in Old Union cemetery but I don't think this is my g.grandmother. I wonder why no one from this area has any knowledge of these people, why there are no records. Can someone please tell me how to check this out? Thank you, Rhoda J. 3. Thank you very much. I wonder if this fellow connects at all to the well-known Jan LUCKEN of Germantown, whose descendants were generally known as LUKENS or LYKENS. I have an email list, myself, devoted to that subject, and I will ask them about this Andrew. I think it is a very interesting subject... 3. Hi Lynne and all - I have a few Dauphin Co Witmers, though not your names: Catherine B. WITMER 1823-1858, who m Dr David Cassel KELLER 1814-1891. My info says she was a daughter of Joseph WITMER and Rosanna BOWMAN. I assume the 'B.' stands for Bowman, her mother's maiden name. I don't know that she was from the Lykens area, all I actually know that is that my KELLERs were from the Hoernerstown area. Have a bit more if you need it, let me know. 3. Tonya. You may have subscribed to PADAUPHI-L-DIGEST@rootsweb.com . If so you would have to open the message from Dauphin and then open the message that you want to read. Try subscribing to PADAUPHI-L-REQUEST@rootsweb.com. Your message is getting through or I would not have received your message. Hope this helps. 3. Two things... Does anyone know which specific LYKENS/LUKENS/LUCKEN, etc., the Lykens valley was named for? Two: Not to be a smart-aleck, but the best way to see if you are getting posts, etc., is to share some data with the list. Then, if you get your own post back, you know the list is working, and no waste has taken place... I received 3 posts from someone asking this question on 3 lists. The list was working fine. Hope to hear from someone. Sandy JLESH2@aol.com", I am descended from Daniel WITMER, whose parents I believe to be Heinrich WITMER and Catharine LOSCH. One biography of Daniel WITMER (incorrectly I believe) lists Daniel's father as Heinrich's brother Matthias, but I have uncovered evidence sufficient to lead me to believe that that is incorrect.
