On Adam's tombstone the date is given as 1768.(Brick Lutheran Churchyard, Upper Frankford Cemetery, Frankford Twp, Cumberland Co. PA). An Adam FELLEBOWM was in the 1779 tax list in Heidelburg Twp., Berks Co. PA. Adam FELLEBAHM is sponsor of John Adam MELL, son of Adam MELL in Hain's Church Records. In the census of 1790, John FELLOWBOWM is listed in Earl Twp., Lancaster Co. with 2 sons under 16 years. A David FELLENBAUM is shown for the year 1782 as a taxable of Earl Twp. Adam FELBAUM is listed in the passenger list of the Phoenix for 30 Sept, 1743, William Wilson Capt. in Strassberger's "Pennsylvania Pioneers" Some of the above was referenced in a manuscript titled " Church Records and other information pertaining to the name MELL", by M. Biographical information should be there. Either you can use Interlibrary loan, a state or university library, or, if you are fortunate, a local library. 2. Hello, I need help in identifying the death/burial location for Robert Broome. It is likely that he died in Dauphin County; however, the death could have also taken place in Northumberland or Schuylkill County. His last known address was Lykens in 1880. Thanks for your time! Bob Miller

    3. In my search for Samuel Mateer's(b 1826 in PA., d 1918 in Ohio) ancestors I proved that George Mater of East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, PA., was his father. In searching for George Mater's ancestors I found in William Henry Egle's Notes and Queries, page 48, Jacob Mater, in 1762, Baptizing his son John at Hill Church in Derry Township, Dauphin County. And John Mater and wife were witnesses. Egle's Notes were first published in the Harrisburg Daily Telegraph between 1879 and 1895. Since Dauphin County was formed in 1785 Egle could properly refer to this Hill Church in Derry Township as being in Dauphin County. I have searched and asked others if this Hill church or cemetery is extant today but the only clue I found was on a present day map which shows a Derry Church. Since no one seems to know anything about this Hill church of Derry Township, Dauphin County, it could be that the church and burying ground are gone, but this seems unlikely. (There is also a church in Dauphin County between Elizabethville and Berrysburg that was referred to as THE HILL CHURCH, sit's on a small hill. It is the St. John Lutheran Church (aka Buffington church). The Buffington's donated the land and Levi Buffington (1761) was the designer of the Church...But it was not built till about 1790. Posted by Joe Buffington - and this is not in Derry Township.) In my efforts to identify this Mater family I was confused by Egle's other references to a Hill church on page 270ff, RECORDS OF THE HILL CHURCH - VII. Baptisms by Rev. Dr. Lochman.-II But several listers have clearly identified a Hill Church off of Hill Church Road NW of Lebanon and from text nearby in Egle's notes it appears this Hill church is the one near Lebanon. It is one of the purposes of this note to state that the Lebanon Hill church is not be confused with the Hill church in what is now Dauphin County. My thanks to the many who helped me understand that Egle was referring to two different Hill churches. ( Vince invested a lot of time in answering my query.) Perhaps others will confirm or deny this tentative conclusion. Recently there has been considerable interest in Egle's notes and I thought this lengthy post might be justified. Regards Hal

I'm not sure if the FTM Reader supports Mac or not. [I'm a loyal Reunion-user!] I reinstalled FTM just to read their CD's. There are many CD's which can be read using esp Adobe Acrobat, which seems to me to be the nicest for both Macs & PC's. Now, Peg, have I talked to you about your STROHs??? 3. Hello list, In a query of Engle's notes. I am planning a trip to the Upper Paxton area in April to find the parents of my GGG grandfather, John Yeager/Jager b. Jan. 1, 1792 d. July 20, 1856. John and Susana (Bordner) Yeager/Jager are buried in Riegle Evang. Untd. Breth. Churchyard in Curtin/Miffflin Twp., Dauphin Co. with two children of his first marriage to a Lydia Warner/Wenner. I am quite sure this will lead me to Andreas Jaeger, a Revolutionary War Patriot, as there is an obituary of my GGG grandfather's brother, Joseph, on my web page that states he was a grandson of Andrew. Would there be any notation of this John Yeager/Jager in Engle's notes. I have access to the FTM reader, as I own a few of their CD's, but find their Genealogy program to be a little lacking. I use Legacy. A very good genealogy program, in my opinion that covers many areas of genealogy research. Thank you, in advance, for any assistance. Egle, such a thorough historian, would not have included that name in his numerous newspaper columns, thence into any of his 13 published volumes. Once I get a chance to drive to Harrisburg, find an empty parking space, walk to the Capitol area, find the Library, and begin looking for the BRINSER name, then I'll know also! I am looking for the surnames Fellenbaum & Sonderecker. Thanks Joan::}~ No Sondereckers, but Henry and Mary FELLENBAUM were married in the St. James Church at Lancaster on the 14th of May, 1833. No other details given in the marriages being recorded. -- Regards, with regrets to Netscape6 users (what a mess!) Can't highlight of underscore selected words or phrases in the notes or comments; can't bold, etc. selected words or phrases in the descendants outline charts; doesn't have WYSIWYG so you can't control the appearance of the printed notes, facts, etc. And, if you do a control P on the Facts page, you get a printed page that contains the Address & Phone Number fields -- rather useless waste of paper for an ancestor long dead! To the lady who wants the CD but doesn't have FTM, many libraries have the program on their computers, and they might even have the CD you want. 3. HISTORY OF THE COUNTIES OF DAUPHIN AND LEBANON IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA: Biographical and Genealogical, by William Henry Engle, pub. 1883. Indexed, 300 pages. F-5403, 20 fiche V172-179 item 3 Available for rental from American Genealogical Lending Library, Inc. - a Division of Heritage Quest. AGLL is in Bountiful, Utah. Many public libraries hold memberships, (my little town does) and those library patrons can order microfilms and fiche directly from their library. Those numbers, above, are from my paper catalog, published several years ago. Currently, their catalog can be downloaded in pdf format from: www.heritagequest.com/catalog/fiche.pdf There are many more Engle fiche available in their on-line catalog. Also, noticed that the Pennsylvania Archives are available. I have no financial interest in this company, but was a happy subscriber with individual membership (about $10.00 yearly) before my local library joined. I notice on their webpage that individual memberships are still available, altho they appear to be specializing in selling CDs. Good luck, Elida in SC

    2. I was going to write privately to Charles, but since he may have left the reader with a slight misunderstanding, I thought I ought to write... You can view the CDs without family treemaker. They have (or at least had) a reader that you can download for free. You do not have to buy their Family Treemaker. I own it. It suffices. But I suspect they are going to lose considerable ground if they do not avoid takeovers or selling out all the time. I think such maneuvers as forcing a customer to use a certain namebrand of browser to access the "special" data they have for FTM purchasers, and fiddling with the Internet Family Finder to force you to see 27,000,000 advertisements in the form of their CD's, instead of hand-picking what you want to search, is a sad turn for the worse. I always recommended this package, but I do not do so as freely now. Oh. If you have a newer FTM, you can upload anyone's files, but if you are about two steps behind, sometimes they are "not compatible." Convenient, forced, upgrading... I do agree, Charles, that one should feel sorry for Netscape 6 users. I use 4.73, and have never seen a better one. 2. Hi Karl, I attended Enhaut Grade School from 1950 to 1953. I was in the fifth grade in 1950. At that time there were 7 grades at Enhaut. In the eighth grade I went to Swatara High School (it is now Swatara Jr. High). In 1953 Swatara High School had grades 8 through 12. I went there for my eighth and ninth years and then went to Central Dauphin High School. Central Dauphin High School opened in 1955. The name Marlene Arndt sure sounds familiar, but not sure how. I lived not far from Dunkle St., so I should remember her. I do know that she was not in my group of friends. Will ask my younger brother if he remembers her. Carol
