Is anybody out there working on the Keim genealogy? A copy of an old newspaper obit for Abram Eshenauer listed Mrs. Earl Keim, 536 Second St. Highspire as a niece. This was in 1936. I want to find out what Mrs. Keim's first name was and her parent's names so I can maybe fill in one more piece of this Eshenauer puzzle. In a 1937 obit for Frederick Eshenauer, of N. Spring St. Middletown, she was also listed in that obit. Until I can get to Harrisburg to the courthouse records, I thought maybe I might pick up my answer on this PaDauphin list. Any other suggestions until then?
Dear C., Thanks for your cemetery tip on the Metzgers. I found your glorious pages one day and checked them ALL. I find Metzgers .but I'm not sure who's who. I must find the grandchildren of John and Anna Maria Larue Metzger That's my next goal. Probably Dauphin County recordsmarriages, wills, etc. I know a couple children/spouses are buried at St. Peters also. Thanks for all the work youve done on genealogies. Its great! Carol Metzger Wilkerson Portland, Oregon ~carol::|~ Glad the pages helped some. As you could see, there are LOTS of METZGERs scattered throughout various cemeteries here. If you trace your ancestors/relatives to MAURICE METZGER, Esq., and want more data, I'm in touch with EDITH METZGER BOOSER. I believe she has family data and may be able to share it. LaRue Metzger, Esq's father was John Metzger. Also a Lerue, s/o Jonas Metzger, b. 4-24-1816 Baptized April 1817 is listed in Sant Peter's Lutheran Kierch Birth and Baptism records, according to Wm. H. Egle's Notes and Queries. -- Regards, with regrets to Netscape6 users (what a mess!) Rita, Thanks for the response. We (myself and several other Osman researchers) have been frustratred for years in our inability to local the parents of 5 Osman males who show up in Upper Dauphin Co. in c1785. We have had our collective eye on John Osmond of Bucks Co. for awhile as a possible connection. We did not know his wifes name until you sent it in todays email to the list, if indeed we are talking about the same man. But I have only ever seen one John Osmond of the timeframe of the mid to late 1700s in Bucks Co. We have seen several spelling variants, but believe it to be the same guy. Are you aware of Capt. John Osman (sea captain) of Philadelphia? On the Goodlanders...I will get together what I have on them in the Central PA area. I think it quite the coincidence that the one connection I have, being Daniel Osman marrying a Goodlander and you having a Goodlander male marrying an Osmond bares looking into. Rita, Have Goodlanders in what is now Perry Co., and then Cumberland Co., and also some in Silver Springs Twp. Cumberland Co. including Mary Margaret Goodlander b. Nov 18, 1793, d. June 18, 1846, d/o Jacob and Justina Goodlander. Would like to learn what you know about John Osmond. Hi, Dauphin County searchers I’m brand new to the list. My surname interests are METZGER/LARUE. I’m pretty sure I’m a descendent of John Metzger(b. 24 Jun 1740-24 d.Apr 1826, buried St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middletown) Anna Maria Larue (10 Jan 1747 d. 20 Nov 1826 buried St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middletown) through one of their sons. Children of John Metzger and Anna Maria Larue John (1766-1826) Elizabeth (1767-1832) Anna Maria (1768-1769) Johan George (1769-) Daniel (1770-1807) Ludwig (1772-1773) Anna Maria "Mary" (1773-1850) Jonas (1775-) Catharine (1777-1849) Jacob (1779-1817) Rebecca (1781-) Charlotte (1784-) Lydia (1786-) Joseph (1789-1854) The farthest back I can verify is my ggg grandfather Francis LaRue Metzger (b.9 Apr 1795 d. 25 Apr 1853 Couderport, Potter, PA) who moved to Potter County from Lewisburg,Union County around 1825. His wife was Margaret Cook (b. Berks County) The Potter County Historical Society has their family Bible. I feel Francis is a son of one of the sons of John and Anna Maria Larue Metzger. Anna Maria had a brother Francis LaRue (2 Mar 1744 Hamilton Township, Franklin, PA d. 18 Feb 1795) who died three months before Francis LaRue Metzger was born. Francis Larue was in the 1790 Dauphin County census. Any help would be appreciated. I’d also like to know who John Metzger’s (1740-1826) father was. I’m trying to find the Germany connection. Thank you so much. ~carol Carol Metzger Wilkerson Portland, Oregon

Hello Everyone, I am new to the list. In my search for my 3rd great grandparents, I always end up back in Dauphin County. My gg-grandad was George W. YEAGER. According to a marriage application of his youngest daughter, George was born in HARRISBURG PA, Dauphin County, abt 1830. A lady named Judie Ann was recently kind enough to do a look up in the Federal Census. She found George Yeager, Harrisburg, in both the 1820-1830 census. I feel this is possibly my 3rd great granddad. I have information he may have been born in New York. Does anyone know of other records available that may help? City directories? (jail list, ya never know!). Anyway, I am open to suggestions. I even hired a professional a few years ago with no results. I was able to eventually find George in Preble Co Ohio married to Amanda CREGAR. They moved to Indiana abt 1855-58, raised a family and died there 1889. BTW- other spellings; Jager, Yager. Thanks, Steve Yeager [Indiana] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Auctions - Buy the things you want at great prices. http://auctions.yahoo.com/
