    1. [PADAUPHI] Osten and Teets families
    2. Is anyone out there working on either of these families? Anton Osten was born circa 1838 in "Ostpreussen". Immigrated to the US, but we don't have full info on that yet. Married Louise Ranhogle, probably in Dauphin County. Don't have death dates for either. Two daughters: Rosa Osten married Daniel Teets, had at least one son. Rosa was still living in 1950; have no further info on this family. Martha Jane "Madalina" Osten married John Tyler Ensminger jr, probably 1917, but we don't have date or place. We do have info on this branch of the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- *Marsha L. 2. Kark, The reason I was asking is my husband has many KAYLOR ancestors buried in the Hoffer Cemetery, namely Joseph KAYLOR b. 1803. Also HOFFERS and SHELLYS. I know where the cemetery is located as it sits next to land owned by the KAYLORS. I am interested in your book and wanted to know if I would find information beneficial to my research in it. I am also trying to find out any information regarding the parents of Joseph KAYLOR. I only know that his father was a tavern owner in W. Donegal Twp. Thanks for responding, Carolyn Kaylor

    1. [PADAUPHI] Yorty/Look
    2. There was some discussion recently on Samuel Yorty that married Elizabeth Look. I am curious if any list member is working on the Look family. Elizabeth is from my line. Her parents were John and Mary Ann nee McElheny Look and they were from the Linglestown area. I would be happy to share what little information I have. Beverly Wyld

Those references have been incorporated into my SWARTZ page, and I overlooked rewording those two paragraphs. Transcribing the material prepared by BEVERLY REED SWARTZ was an arduous job, but not nearly ar arduous as the journey back in the 1700s. I'm glad you called this to my attention, and I'll correct the references. The appendices contained, of course, the tombstone engravings in the two Swartz and Nissley cemeteries. The MUMMA Farm Cemetery was recently added, due to its close proximity in time and place, but wasn't a part of the SWARTZ's Arduous Journey. -- Regards, with regrets to Netscape6 users (what a mess!) 2. My book does not include transcriptions of every cemetery in Dauphin County.. Although I would have loved to have been able to do that, it would have been impossible. An example I can give would be the Resurrection cemetery ... to include the inscriptions on just that cemetery would have required a ream of paper. Many of the cemeteries in my book do give suggestions as to where you can go to find the incriptions for that particular cemetery. I hope this answers your question. 2. Yvonne: not sure if this is the correct Yvonne, but it can't hurt to try. Here is what I sent for you recently. No need to respond. Kathy Subj: Re: [PACUMBER] Kornman/Cornman Date: 2/5/01 10:07:49 PM Eastern Standard Time From: KKelly106 To: PACUMBER-L@rootsweb.com Evelyn, Yvonne and Donna: I know that I have corresponded before with one of you. Since then I have found a few more tidbits. Here is my Kornman/Cornman info. 1. Will Abstract: Jacob Wickert, North Middleton, June 9, 1823. June 25, 1823. Wife Barbara Daughter Elizabeth Kelly Witnesses: Wife Barbara and Reinneck Angney Exe: Henry Cornman, Job Randolph I.303 2. In researching the Angney name I found Cornmans and Angneys listed with the First Evangelical Lutheran Church (or some name close to that) in Carlisle. Kellys also appear on the list. This should show up in a US Genweb search for you. 3. Francis Kelly, yeoman, and his brother Thomas and Thomas's wife, Catherine, sold land in Middleton Twp. to Henry Cornman, blacksmith, on 4/7/1806. Recorded 4/13/1807. Francis and Thomas had sold property a year earlier to George Logue, Esq. which "lay on both sides of the Great Road" in Middleton. 4. Francis Kelly, 1765-1835, was a postmaster of Landisburg Borough, then located in Cumberland, now Perry, County. From a newspaper abstract collected by Gene Boak for the Perry Historians. 5. I don't know where I found the following information (sorry) but I'm sure it will be enlightening: Children of Ludwig Kornman and Mary Lebanon: John 1778 Henry 1780-1851 m. Susanna Wilt (same as who purchased Francis Kelly property?) George 1782 Ludwig 1783 Mary 1785 Susanna 1789 died as infant Jacob 1791 Elizabeth 1793 Philip 1794 m. Anna Braught 1817, Margaret Zeigler 1823. I have in these notes that Philip died 1826 and that Francis Kelly became the guardian of the 2 sons of Anna after Philip's death. Sons: Jonathan H. or Dominick? b 1818, and John born 1820. Catherine 1795 Abraham 1797 Margaret 1803 I hope this is helpful for all of you. If any of you come across Kelly information in your Cumberland search, I would be most appreciative in hearing of it. Kathy Kelly
