There are not very many Jonathan MATTERS even considering spelling variations in the surname. We have one, if you count MATER as a spelling variation and I am about ready to cross that bridge. Jonathan MATER, born before 1755 is alive and well in Cumberland County in 1800 with a very nice family, I am sure they were very nice, but they seem to have been orphaned because Jonathan disappears from the records - at least the ones I have searched. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe when he was Baptized and married it was Johannes or just plain John. If he was Matter I have not found him. And I see no hint that he arrived in this country maybe with a ready made family. I suppose he could have come in through Baltimore and that we will never know. Michael MATER, born after 1755, may have been his younger brother, they are living close to one another in 1800. There are some Michael MATTERS, but they all seem to be spoken for. Any comments appreciated. Regards to the list Hal

I do not know of an epidemic at that time, however, I am looking for some information on a Marion Hamaker, Hammacher, Hammaker. Who may have been married to my great grandmother, Anne Cogley. Time period - 1825-1835, but I am not sure. If you have anyone by that name in your ancestry, please let me know. Susan Wismer

Hello to both lists... www.genealogylinks.com is one site I use often... it has been constantly updated/added to... for most click on United States then scroll to the section where it says over 60,000 records click on it then either click on National or State search engine... There are several surnames u will find of ones you think may be lost... I have found the wunderlust in my families thru this site I have found why they are not listed in PA for different time periods...and then show up back in PA... Searching GEORGE/ STONEROAD / GRUMBLING / DRYBREAD/ RUTH / WEINHOLD / HARNISH/ plus 1000 others... Penny J George-Weeks

I have bought over 200 CD's from FTM over the last four years and have had not one miss from them. I have found so much data and been able to help multitudes with their research. I am a very happy customer! Maybe it depends on the sales person. Might be better to go higher up when a problem occurs. Madalene
Hi Margie and to all others who may have some additional information: Here are the ZIMMERMANS I'm working on: The earliest documented ancestor, Michael Zimmerman B:1826 lived in Washington Twp, Dauphin Co. and is buried with many family members at St. John's cemetery outside Elizabethville, PA. I have not been able, as of yet, to come across records indicating who Michael's parents are. I have these names as oral remembrances of possible brothers: Daniel, Aaron, Peter and Jacob. The 1870 census of Dauphin Co., Williams Twp. Line 17 on page 20 there is a George W. age 8 listed living with parents Jacob & Catherine Zimmerman. Jacob is a brother of Michael. If any of you ZIMMERMAN researchers could lend a hand, I sure would be mighty grateful. So in Ascending order: Eleanore Kiehl B:1915 >Lulu ZIMMERMAN 1889-1962 married to Charles KIEHL> David/Otto ZIMMERMAN B: 23 Mar 1867 married to Mary Elizabeth KESSLER>Michael ZIMMERMAN/YEARTZ 1826-1886, married to Anna Yeartz. and now for father of Michael? I recently purchased the FTM (Millenium version), only because I could not find the other one. Out of the 21 CD's included three were duplicates. The one labeled NY was of Charleston, The one labeled Charleston was PA and the one labeled PA was NY. I complained about it but it was like talking to a brick wall. I would not recommend to anyone. I am trying to find out the death date and burial place for Aaron Zerby and his wife Amanda Hoffman Zerby. I understand they died in Berrysburg, Pa. I was wondering if there is anyone on the list from this area that be able to locate this information for me if they ever check out the various cemeteries in the town. IF someone could give me the names of Funeral homes in Berrysburg, I might be able to get info from one of them. Aaron was born 1838 and he probably died around 1900, and Amanda was born in 1844-46 and died after 1900 as far as I can find out. I am researching for my sister-in-law whose grandfather was son of Aaron and Amanda (John William). Thank you for any help you can give me. Wadene Bennett
Wow Bob! I sure a sorry to hear that. I have been getting the FTM CD's for a little over four years now and have never had anything but very good service. When ever I made a mistake the corrected it at their expense and I have been very happy with them. On every CD you order if you do not find family on it you can send it back and get a refund. I sure hope you pursued your $20.00! Just a note on FTM and Egle's notes. I purchased this CD 2 years ago for $69.95. Seems I ordered the wrong CD. FTM made good on the transaction by sending me the proper Egle's Notes for $ 49.95. They also forgot to credit my account for the $20.00 difference. I stopped all further transactions with FTM. Now they are selling the same CD that I paid $ 69.95 for at the low bargain price of $ 9.95. Hurray for FTM. Sounds like they are in the same money grubbing category as MS. Bob Sheetz
