Doc Swartz et al::}~ Inscriptions for the people buried in the Hershey/Brehm Farm Cemetery (also known as the Indian Echo Caverns Cemetery), may be found in the Derry Township Historical Society. I do not have them in my records, but thanks for the data. You can view your SWARTZ ancestors' stones in the Lower Swatara SWARTZ cemetery by linking up to: SWARTZ / SCHWARTZ <http://home.att.net/~charliefies/Swartz.html>. Regret your not getting my previous communications relative to your ancestors. You may find the genealogy records from Jim SWARTZ's daughter interesting, and the history of SWARTZ immigration by Beverly SWARTZ doubly so. Regards, and keep in touch. I'm seeking verification of the presence in Dauphin County circa 1850s of five brothers named VANDERBURG, especially of one Nelson VANDERBURG, married to Mary Ann GOULD, who supposedly went to that area from Ontario circa 1850 "to farm" and returned to Canada about ten years later. This person, Nelson, is my gg grandfather and I'm trying to trace his ancestry. I'm also wondering if there is a VANDERBURG or VANDERBURGH family that existed in Dauphin County prior to that time. Any assistance greatly appreciated! JERRY GARLEB lat34@earthlink.net Lake Hughes, California

They lived at 1824 Geyers Church Rd, Middletown and passed away in 1996.. How happy I am to have found it and see the pictures of the church and cemetery. I live in Bucks County, Pa.and do not get back to Middletown very often. My Husband's (Robert) family is also buried there. Maude and W. Ray Winters were his parents and his grandparents were Abram and Annie Geyer-Winters. His two brothers are buried there Larry and Donald Winters. He also had a brother who was lost at sea during WWII. In January we found his name listed on the casuality list of the ship "Rohna" which was sunk in the Mediterranean Sea November 26, 1943. His name was Homer M. Winters. You can read about this sinking at www.whidbey.net/rohna/rohna.htm In the North Africa American Cemetery ia a Memorial Wall which has his name on it. But we would like to put a marker ( In memory ) on his parents lot. Do you know who we can contact at the Geyers cemetery to see if this would be permitted? I would also like to know more about the Geyer family history. Do you have any information on the Geyer family or know who I can contact to obtain a starting point? I want to thank you for all the hard work you put into making this site available. You sure made my day! Thanks so much...........Dorothy Bobdotwin@msn.com Dorothy Beadle Winters: Per your request, I am forwarding you the e-mail address of Kenneth Espenshade, caretaker of the Geyer's Hillsdale Cemetery: mailto:espen1611@aol.com. There are six or seven different first names to the surname of METZGER which appear in the Northumberland County Historical Society Proceeding books. Also, their are many METZGER references on-line if a search for the surname is run through Rootsweb Pennsylvania Archives. ----- Original Message ----- From: <KBlanck725@aol.com> To: <PADAUPHI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2001 1:57 PM Subject: Re: [PADAUPHI] METZGER > Hello List, > I have an extensive book compiled by the Metzger family with a few > references to the LaRue line. Hello List, I have an extensive book compiled by the Metzger family with a few references to the LaRue line. LaRue was used mostly as a middle name in the Metzger family. Most of this family centers around Williamsport in Lycoming Co. No mention to John Jr. or Anna Marie that I've seen queried before. My wife descends from the Metzger line through the Bussom line. Her METZGER family are all scattered around the greater Middletown area, some of which, of course, are in the cemeteries I have listed. C. H. HUTCHINSON's "CHRONICLES OF MIDDLETOWN" refers to the names you mentioned: Pg 253 shows LE RUE METZGER a member of UNITED AMERICAN MECHANICS Pgs 42, 43 shows JOHN METZGAR involved in building the Lutheran Church @ 1767 Other scattered references, also exist, on various METZGAR/METZGER naames. "God's Acres" by Grace DeHart references John & Mary (b. 1740, 1747), and Jacob & Mary (b. 1779, 1773), plus others. Few detailed relationships available. Next time I talk with Edith (just remembered whats-her-name!) I'll see if she has any kind of family details written down. She mentioned them before, but I sorta forgot. Hello, I have been searching unsuccessfully so far for the family of Conrad Heilman born 1760. He appears as a single man in 1782 in northern Baltimore County MD just over the line from Manheim Tp, York PA (in the area which is now Carroll County). He married in York in 1783, and is buried there, at St. David's/Shermans church (with his daughter and son-in-law John Fultz and Annamaria Heilman Fultz). However, I don't believe he ever lived there. Just today I read that a Conrad Heilman is found in early Dauphin tax lists and that made me very excited. I believe it may have been the Conrad Heilman who came to American in 1752 as a 28-year-old man. Who could have been father to my Conrad. Anyway, anybody with information on Heilman - or with access to the tax lists in any form who can confirm this for me - or anybody willing to peek in resource books to see if Conrad Heilman appears - ???? Thanks for any pointers, Jane Peppler in North Carolina
