    3. Regret I did not see the Klinger query from Roger that occasioned a response from Laura Darr. I am responding to Laura's reply. I have Klingers dating from 1520 to 1991, including immigrant Johann Philip Klinger (1723-1811), who is buried at Klinger's Church, Erdman, Dauphin Co., along with several other Klingers I show in that cemetery. Will be happy to share with Klinger researchers if you contact me and we can find a connection. Nelson R. 3. There is information in Leffler records to indicate that J. Philip Klinger, Jr was married to Ana (Anna) Maria Leffler, the daughter of Gottlieb Leffler. His administration papers clearly state that his daughter Ana Maria was married to a Klinger and that her husband was Philip. This is found throughout the administration of his estate. The records also show Ana Maria and Philip Klinger as godparents of Leffler children who would have nieces and nephews of Ana Maria and Leffler siblings as sponsors of some of the Klinger children. J. Philip III was sponsored by my 4 great grandfather and mother (Johannes Philip Leffler and his wife Catherine, nee Reidt). J. Philip Leffler was a brother of Ana Maria. I tried the link just now, and it worked fine. The problem might be that when the link is copied, it included the period at the end. The last character in the link should be html without the period.

    3. Follow-up to my message yesterday about "The Tulpehocken." Evidently some subscribers are having difficulty with a link on the Webpage that describes "The Tulpehocken" at http://www.rootsweb.com/~paberks/townships/tulpehocken.html . The link is supposed to point to a map of the area. The link worked for me yesterday and it worked the first time I tried it this morning, but after that the link stopped working. To get to an on-line map of "The Tulpehocken," one can use the USGNIS map server. Go to the query form at: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form On that page, fill in the following blanks: Feature name: "Tulpehocken" State: "Pennsylvania" County Name: "Berks' Then click on "Send Query." This brings up a menu listing four features in Berks Co. named "Tulpehocken." Click on "Creek" to get the map with red dots that show the area settled by the Germans who came down the Susquehanna River from New York state in the 1820's. On the "Tulpehocken Creek" page that comes up, scroll down and click on "Show Feature Location." On the next page red dots will indicate the course of the Tulpehocken Creek. I find the USGNIS maps very helpful in locating many places I hunt for when working on family history. There are 64 different "feature types" on their search menu. I recommend that researchers put the above URL for the GNIS query form in their "Favorites" and use it often. It is an exceptionally useful tool when searching for locations. Nelson R. Sulouff
