There are different ways some have spelled the Blauser name. I know my ancestors came from Dauphin Co. If you anyone has any information I would appreciate hearing from you, also of any cemeteries that may have some buried in them
The Dauphin County Almshouse is in pretty much the same location now as when it was established in the middle of the 1800's: at 28th and Paxton Streets. Now it is called Dauphin Manor, but it has been called the county poorhouse, county asylum and county almshouse in the past. Most of what we now call 28th Street was named "Poorhouse Road" in the late 1800's and early 1900's. On the 1875 Swatara Township, Dauphin County map at Bob Maley's website,(http://maley.net/atlas/) you can see the almshouse, identified as "County Asylum" by following Paxton Street (not identified, but the road that leaves the city from the "G" in "Harrisburg") from the city limits due east. County coroner Graham Hetrick recently successfully saved most of the almshouse cemetery from being lost to construction. It is now marked. Records of the county almshouse are at the state archives in Harrisburg, some on microfilm. Hello List members, I am new to this list but have been working with the Phila. list for a few months. Currently I would like to know who to contact about school records from the Harrisburg school system for the years 1915/16/17. My father and his siblings seem to attended school in Harrisburg during those years. Thank for any suggestions. Peg
Nadine, I have a lot of cousins but none with the name of Frank that I know of. However I'm finding there are a lot more Lentz out there then I ever dreamed. My Dad had three brothers and two sisters. I never knew my Grandfather for he passes away when my Dad was young. Wish I could help. E.M.S./NH

I have Catherine Mayer m. to Frederick Franck. They were married at Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, Dauphin Co.,PA, May 23, 1809. Still trying to find her family in the Dauphin/Lancaster area. From census records we estimate her birth about 1793. I know Mayer is quite common, but if anyone has a Catherine (Catarina) who was born about that time it may be a place for me to start looking. I've been through allot of the church records in both counties, but not knowing the Mayer family I'm just not sure where to begin. Hope someone may have Mayer family information to share. Thanks, Marcia Fronk
