    3. Tonya, There was a George Elmer Copenhaver (4/15/1877-5/26/1901) who died in Hershey, Dauphin Co. He is reportedly buried, together with his wife, Prudence Mary Daniel, in Hershey. I regret I have traced only one of George's children, a daughter Mabel Anna Koppenhaver (1892-1970), who moved to Juniata Co. after her marriage 2/17/1914 to my third cousin, twice removed, Charles William 'Ducky' Suloff (1891-1972). Mabel died in Carlisle, Cumberland Co. and is buried with her husband in Mifflintown, Juniata Co. What I regret even more is that I entered the data on George Copenhaver into a computer program I was using 20 years ago and it did not provide for annotating sources, so I'm not certain how I came by the information on Mabel Anna's father. I do know that the information I have on his descendants came from personal interviews I had years ago with his descendants living in Juniata Co. Note the change in spelling of surname from father to daughter. This might provide a helpful clue for your search. As a matter of fact, that surname has quite a number of variant spellings in Pennsylvania. If you haven't already done it, you might want to look for a doubled 'p' in Coppenhaver, also Koppenheffer, or anything else phonetically viable. Happy hunting, Nelson R. 3. I have seen them at various libraries, they are not rare. They are maybe half dozen books. Someone also published an index. I see on Genealogical Publishing Co. website they have them for $29.99 which is worth the investment if you doing much PA research. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, June 24, 2004 8:46 AM Subject: Re: [PADAUPHI] Egles Notes > I'm also interested in Egles Notes. 3. In the Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin county of 1896, there is a write-up on page 1085 on Moses Koppenhaffer, a son of Jonathan and Catherine (Hopner) Koppenhaffer. Jonathan Koppenhaffer died in 1890, aged 88, so would have been born about 1802, presumably about the same time as your George Koppenhaffer. The parents of the above Jonathan Koppenhaffer were Michael Kippenhaffer and Catherine Garrett and they had a family of sons and daughters. Unfortunately, none of the names of the sons and daughters except for Jonathan, are given. Jonathan and his wife had 11 children named Emanuel, Angeline, Moses, Sarah, George, John, Elizabeth, Catherine, Mary Jane, Emeline, and Rebecca. Jonathan and Catherine Hopner Koppenhaffer's family was born in Mifflin township in Dauphin county. My guess is that your George is a brother of Jonathan's and therefore a son of Michael and Catherine Garrett Koppenhaffer. Hope this helps out a bit, Sue
