I have been searching for the parents and siblings of my David Houser for along time. The birth date (year) of your John Houser is close to my David Housers, with my David being born in 1814, your John, 1815. When did your John marry? The reason I ask is that my David married ca. 1838 to his first wife, Leah Saunda, and their first child was born in 1839. He married his second wife, Catherine after the death of Leah (1851,) ca. 1853. It's seems to me that your John must have married later in life as you mention Samuel, born abt 1852. My David and his first wife Leah had 5 children by 1851. David had 9 children with his second wife, Catherine, with the first being born in 1854. What I find interesting is the names of your John's children. My David had a Samuel, born 1860, Matilda, born 1858, and a John Henry (my ggg grandfather, b. 1849,) and a George, b. 1842. Also interesting that my David's "Samuel's" middle name was Augustus, (i.e. your George August.) I do not know whether the names are just what one would call "popular" names for that time, or could it be that these folks were indeed related as they did do what I call the "naming pattern" after family members. Hmmmm..... I am still searching, so please keep in touch if something pops up. I will do the same! Tammy
