PA -- who they married, where they ended up, etc. Both show up in wills of Cumberland Co. in the late 1700's. The first is the son of John Mitchell whose will (Rye Twp.) was dated Dec. 27, 1773. He lists a wife Agness and children David, Mary, John, James, Jane (Parkeson), and Searea (Hart). The second is the son of Gawin Mitchell, whose will (Newtown) was dated April 18, 1778. He lists a wife Isabella and children Alexander, Ezekiel, Susanna, margaret, Agness, Jean, Ruth, James, Robert, and a son-in-law, Josias Brown. I am descended from a James Mitchell of Cumberland Co. who was b. ca. 1739 and m. Esther (Hetty) Gibson. They ended up in Washington Co. PA. I suspect that he was one of the two Jameses in the Cumberland Co. wills... but which one?
