    3. Siobhan, Wilson Taggert Vanasdlen (Vanasdal), b. 6 Jul 1836 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, was the youngest of six children of Isaac Vanasdlen and his second wife Margaret Steel. He married Catherine A. Beetem at Gill's Hotel in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on 7 Oct, 1858. They had three children before his death 31 Dec 1864, Carrie A., b. 1859, John, b. Oct 1861 and Wilson Elmer, b. 9 Aug 1864. Wilson is buried in the Centreville Lutheran Church Graveyard in Centreville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. As I recall he is buried next to his wife Catherine though she later remarried (Jacob B. Kling/Cling) and had another daughter. Wilson's cemetery marker says simply, "Vanasdal, W. T., Co. K. 20th Pa. Cav". The Cumberland County Historical Society has microfilmed copies of the local papers that contain articles concerning his death and the trial of the men who shot him. Specific dates I found were Jan 5 and 6, 1865 and April 21, 1865. I'm currently living out-of-state and unfortunatel! y don't have copies of the articles with me. John appears in the 1870 census of Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in the household of his mother and her new husband Jacob. I lose track of him after that except for a marriage notation in "The Snohomish County Washington 1926 Biographys" that indicates he married Anna Francis 7 Nov 1891. I don't have anything to put John in Monroe Township, though his grandparents and other relatives certainly spent some time there. I descend from Isaac Vanasdlen and Margaret Steel as well, though through Wilson's older brother William. I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have other questions or would like to share more information.
