First it was a work in progress that was abandoned twice - by Silas in 1910 and by Robert in 1944. Robert's draft of 10 April 1944 was heavily marked for editing ; editing that was apparently never done. Secondly, for them and for myself, I will say that the closer you are to the center line (my direct ancestors) the better the research. The further away the more likely it includes nothing more than a letter with the rememberences of a very old person. In other words, the more numbers on "cousin" and "removed" use it as you should use the IGI, as a guide on where to look and not as the "gospel." I have three versions of the manuscript - a Xerox copy I made on 28 July 1979, a print of a Word file that Lucy Diller did in the early 80's, and the file that is floating around the Internet. As I said, Robert never finished his work. My Xerox indicates that he never did Book II Chapter IV Illinois , Book II Chapter VII Oklahoma, Appendix XIV Married Descendants of Frantz Tueller or Appendix XV Unrelated Iowa Dillers. Two notes there - 1.If he intended to do them then he obviously had some form of research that those branches existed. And 2. My own experience is that from the colonial era there were two main branches of "Dillers" - one from Casper Diller and one from Frantz (Tueller) ; but beginning in the 1800's a large number of unrelated (or distantly related) Dillers appeared from Germany. What I have that is not on the floating file is : Book II Chapter II Virginia - however it was only 3 pages in the original. Book II Chapter III S.W. Penn - Book II Chapter IV Lake Erie - partial copy ; the original had 61 pages and I copied 11. Appendix VII - Francis Diller Bible Appendix VIII - Frantz Dieller leases Apendix IX - Frantz Dieller will Appendix X - Diller Church deeds Appendix XI - Abraham Dieller will Appendix XII - Francis Diller will 1846 Appendix XIII - Names Tueller and Diller Again a note - it is my understanding that when Robert died the family contributed the passport and the Frantz Tueller Bible to the Smithsonian Institute. I have a very poor quality Xerox of the passport ; would love to see if some Diller back east could get a better picture. I have so much to do I don't know when I'll ever get this in an electronic form . But we have to share ; so if you have a question on one of the parts that I have please feel free to email me a question. Will love to help. David
